Just to update the thread, the dealer says that PBS (I'm assuming they can only speak for north america) is not available as a separate option in 2021. I'm not certain what that other earlier post was referring to, about ordering it separately as an option (without ordering Lariat).

Huh. I'm assuming it was designed safely, but does anyone (with the appropriate knowledge) have a comment on this? I'm curious as well.

That does seem nontrivial... :) By purchasing separately, I meant through the dealer and having them add it to a custom non-Lariat factory order. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they are willing to do that. I'm curious about the poster that was able to order it...

Yeah, it's a nice feature, but not enough to get the Lariat (overall I did not like the Lariat, mainly due to leather seats which can't be removed from that trim level) I'm just curious about the post that implied that it *could* be purchased separately somehow...

Interesting. When / where were you buying? I'm just placing a factory order for a 2021 XLT, and the dealership said there was no way to get PBS separately. It can only be through the Lariat.

Hmmm...my impression is that there are a few different categories of run-flat tires. One of them does require a special wheel, but others (or so i've read) only need the modified tire.

Does anyone run aftermarket run-flat tires? If so, what do you use? I'm contemplating adding them to a 2021 XLT (17" wheels), assuming the specific tire has suitable ride qualities (I've heard they can be stiffer) I searched the forums, but didn't see any results.

All dealers have internal tools to order 2021; that's how people have been ordering 2021 for 1-2 months now. But the public Ford tool isn't updated for 2021; not sure when it'll be updated. Sure. I only repeat it when people ask why I don't get a 2020, that the configuration isn't available :)...
