i am a new pickup truck owner and had a 2017 jeep patriot 4x4 before my 21 fx4. I had the patriot up a gnarly (compacted snow/ice/curvy/uphill switchback going to the top of white top mountain in virgina last winter and it was a blast and i felt totally safe. Only when i hit the deeper snow...
As an update, the stock fx4 shocks i took off had 8500 miles on them. New truck. I can easily compress them with one hand into a hard surface like the garage floor. The bilsteins seem to take about twice the force to compress when i compressed them before installing. Unless they loosen up...
Like night and day. I noticed that the fx4 shocks that i took off literally have kangaroos on them. Now i know why the fx4 is so bouncy. Obviously since the ranger was in australia so long since 2012, its designed more for the outback at high speeds rather than the run to the mall.

This is just a short little howto on how to replace and adjust the fog lights on the 2021 fx4.
The fx4 has a skid plate under radiator (aka radiator skid) and a skid plate under the oil pan (aka oil pan skid) which interferes with accessing the fog lights from underneath. Not sure if other...
it's louder outside the truck. but i did check the jack and all snug. it's got to be something underneath loose. maybe an exhaust hanger or something....
i have a 2021 supercab. so 2 doors. i noticed since new a sort of rattle noise but lower bass, almost like how a turkey call sounds, when going over slightly bumpy roads or when i close the passenger side door. i can hear the noise more outside around the back glass area of the back window...
https://wranglerjkforum.net/threads/how-to-fix-a-squeaky-brake-pedal-on-a-jeep-wrangler-jk.26059/
this is exactly what needs to happen for mine i think.
first pass the dealer said the creak is normal. they all do that. they don't. i pushed back asked for them to lube everything. nothing for 3 hours.....
interesting update:
went to the store over lunch. creaking like crazy. is cold out like in upper 30s. headed back and i noticed that pushing the pedal down from the left part of the pedal was quiet. from the normal right side was still creaking. did that a few times, alternated from right...
in one of these threads phil mentions spraying the rubber boot. it's not clear if he means the outside of it or the inside of it.
there seems to be some white plastic/hard cylinder thing that surrounds the rod that goes thru the firewall into the booster. the boot is covering that white hard...
sprayed the heck out of the pivot areas both sides , the rod and clip that goes thru the firewall. with plastic and rubber safe silicone. still have it. i guess i will bring this up friday when i go in for the truck losing all battery power out of the blue and then fine 5 minutes later.
Phil,
Can you give us some examples of a polyethylene type of lube that we can buy off the shelf? Googling seems to come up with teflon types and silicone types for polyethylene .
