  1. Mice in Heater

Wow... those tunneling little bastids. My mom always said mice can get into a sealed mason jar. Short of that fix, my mechanic told us to use moth balls under the vehicles. I found that to do diddly squat. I've also read that peppermint oil repels them, but haven't tried that.
  2. Auto start/stop feature elimination for free?

Yeah, I wouldn't do that 'mod', find another way if you want to turn it off. ETA: Oops, didn't see this was an old thread... and I've posted in it already!
  3. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

Koons is actually an empire of car dealers. in this area there's one for damn near every flavor of car ever made.
  4. Nearly flawless Ranger

2020 Lariat bought new in March 21, no issues. Needs the rear headrests replaced on recall otherwise no issues.
  5. Ford Protect Extended Warranty

Not sure in Canada, but apparently they aren't offering PHEV in US, at least that's what they're saying now. Some chit about the F150 and the Mav will cover the EV offerings. I hope that is not true, and also that we get a supercab PHEV 6G Ranger, else I'll be keeping the ranger or possibly a...
  6. New Decked midsized

I guess they have a use for some folks. I know the tradesmen I know haul a butt load of 'stuff'. Seems many of them have a panel van, but this would allow them to get some minimal materials on top when they need it. Niche market IMO. After watching that vid, this popped up in my feed. I...
  7. Uneven Steering Force

So the dealer went to the trouble of checking alignment but then did nothing else to find the issue?
  8. Traded the Ranger :-(

I'm not having any problems that give me heartburn. It likes to hang in 7th and I just tap the accelerator, but I'm not bothered by it. If it gets worse then maybe I will, but overall I'm still happy.
  9. Traded the Ranger :-(

My ranger is the first domestic I've ever owned. Back when I was getting into the car market the domestic vehicles were garbage (early 80's) and I said I'd never own one. When I finally got back into the truck market after have a 93 Toyota, the Ranger was the only game in town IMO for midsize...
  10. B-Pillar Rattle

The few times my wife has been in the passenger side she has let the belt fly back and bang on the pillar... the last time I finally snapped and yelled "STOP DOING THAT!"
  11. Traded the Ranger :-(

Out of curiosity I built a Mav on the site yesterday. I see they are now offering some advanced 4WD option? I never saw what that actually means. Anyone know? One of my beefs with the Mav was no real 4WD (I sort of want/need that in the mountains and on my property), but if it now has a real...
  12. Softopper Camping Tent - Insulation Question

I think you are. And then if it rains you've got sloppy moving blankets to deal with.
  13. Softopper Camping Tent - Insulation Question

I used to do a lot of camping at the beach in a truck tent, and in fall and spring it would be cold. While it may 'help', I honestly don't think the 30's is that cold, especially considering you'll be dressed for the weather and, I assume, will have sleeping bag and blankets. You'll be dressed...
  14. Hybrid Ranger

There was some info posted a few weeks back, but it also looks like it won't be coming to USA. I hope it does, but what I saw suggested they are staying with the f150 and mav for their electric stuff in the US.
  15. Turn signal bulb out again

IMO, it's perfectly fine way to fix it. I do that often in many situations. If an ac socket has gotten loose to where it won't make contact, I bend the plug blade a little bit. Now THAT might not be good since the proper fix is to replace the outlet, but that's another story :)
  16. Rust at end of bed liner. Truck only has been registered for 1.5 years

Yeah, I had a drop in liner in my old truck, and it was the type that wrapped around the top of the bed 'rails'... not sure they are called rails, but the top of the bed that is now capped with plastic on the ranger. The drop in liner chewed through the paint on the top of the rails, and...
  17. Wasp Nest in the Ground?

Unrelated, but my dad was an old, poor boy with more brawn than brains I guess (not really). He would just get a propane torch and take it to wasps nest (the above ground types, not ground wasps). I think it was an old circus trick.
  18. SYNC Will Not Update

You can also go to cyanlabs.net and use their sync updater. A lot of peeps here, including me, use that with success.
  19. Ranger size comparison.

I had a 93 Toyota pre-taco extended cab. When I bought it the previous owner had put 'big tires' on it that seems rather large. Turns out they were the same size that is on my Ranger but they just seemed huge at the time. I saw an old taco the other day which is about the same size as my old...
  20. Wasp Nest in the Ground?

My first encounter was when I was about 7, and was hanging out with my big brother while he was mowing a neighbors grass. I got bit, and then he sat the push mower over the nest for a while. Then, when I was about 48 and mowing my own yard was going around an old stump (hint, they like old...
