Thanks for the explanation. I was not understanding that the 'clear' film helps the process by sticking to the truck. It might be even more difficult to see the position on a white truck.
I agree. Have opened and closed mine several times and don't see an issue. The main difference to me is that you are having to overcome the two lifting struts. I think that as the struts get some use they will get weaker and easier to close until they wear out and need replacement just like...
I have it but only found one station close enough to receive in my area. Maybe it will be ok when traveling in populated areas if I let my SiriusXM lapse later on. It does sound good.
That's my next option if the adhesive lets loose. Hardly any of the adhesive on the rubber pad stayed on the tailgate so I decided to try it under the hood.
I grew up in the era when you didn't waste anything.
Is there any possibility to adjust? In the past, on things like this, I have found it helps to start with just a small part of the backing peeled off so as to line it up and finish removing as you press it in place. Do you think that would work on individual letters?
I have the Ford OEM / Truxedo cover and was hoping to mount a 12" high rack so I still have access to the bed with the cover rolled back. I like your rack design. You should go into production with your design using some sort of quick mount so the rack can be easily removed when the tent isn't...
Same here. I hike a lot more than I tow and always worry about dropping my keys somewhere on a 5 mile trail un-noticed. The hitch is always there for emergencies so I can always get home. When hiking or out on a friend's boat, I plan to leave one key at home and stash the key I'm using that...
I don't use a hitch very often so I'm not worried about it. As long as you know the combination you can easily remove the safe by opening it and sliding two plates so you can remove the pins. Takes a few seconds. If you have a hard bed cover you should be ok but mine is a soft one and easy to...
Don't need a faraday bag since the fob is inside a an aluminum box inside the trailer hitch receiver. I am keeping the spare fob inside the HitchSafe. I did put the fob in one of those cushioned plastic bags so it doesn't bounce around. It isn't detected by the truck's security system the...
I just installed my HitchSafe yesterday. It provides a hitch cover, also acts as a faraday bag and is easy to install and use. Of course I had to install a trailer hitch first because my Lariat didn't have one from the factory. That was a little tougher to install.
I took the tip off, painted back to the muffler, put the tip back on the next day after the paint was good and dry. The tailpipe actually looked pretty good with just the black paint.
Looks great! Thanks for the photo.
BTW I had a Hot Pepper Red LXT on order when my dealer made me an end of the month deal I couldn't refuse on an in stock Lariat. I think I still really like the Red better.
My White Platinum FX4 Ranger has the Sport Appearance Package so there is no chrome. I'm looking for tailgate letters that match the Magnetic Gray Trim. Of course, the front bash plate is light gray but that's a long way from the tailgate.
Has anyone with a truck like mine found a close...
