I think humans, by nature, are tribal. They need to belong to a group or a movement or something. Add to that, ego and identity. Boom, you get cult followings. Those get perpetuated by marketing and confirmation bias and just ignorant...
If used Tacos were not so insanely priced, or if Toyota still used that drivetrain in the new models, I would likely have a Toyota. Instead, we get a modified Sienna and Avalon engine that needs redlined for power. Neat.
