I went through the Whittier-Narrows Quake back in '87 and a bunch more the followed in the years afterward up through the 1990 Upland quake (I moved to MI that summer). SoCal was pretty rockin' in the mid to late 80's.
They are predicted the worst is coming this week or two in the tri-state (NY/NJ/CT) area. I'm staying tucked in my home office and blasting some Metallica while working.
There is a module a bunch of us bought on a group buy last year that enabled this (I accidentally clicked the lock button too many times in the video, but they go back up with one click of the lock button).
Other than pickup up some stuff from my office to work from home and one dump trip, I think the only driving I have done the past few weeks is to back it out of the garage so my kids could get to their bikes.
My company is being bitten bad because of reduced advertising. We make digital products like websites, apps and voice skills for media companies, and a lot of times in place of cash payments we accept advertising barter. (IE. We get X minutes of air time for advertising on their radio stations)...

PS: I want to use this time staying home to get in shape....but who am I kidding? ?
I want to start some home projects, but I wonder if I'll be able to get all the way through it if I can't get what I need from Home Depot / etc... I know they'll still be open (supposedly they are considered...
CT is on lockdown starting tomorrow night.
Drove to the office yesterday to make sure everything is secure and it was just plain out eerie. Very "Walking Dead" driving down the parkway without hardly a soul out. Luckily, our supermarkets are getting replenished decently (except paper...
Don't like the press? Don't feed into them.
People just need to start getting their news from a non-biased source. Give up CNN, MSNBC and Fox News (which yes, is an "MSM") and anything else that skews towards your "beliefs" and stop regurgitating their talking points. They just make you sound...
Let's keep the mudslinging out of this please as there is some good information and it sure would be nice to keep open. While there will be political talk here because of the global implications, can we not let this devolve into a political bashing session?
Thanks.
