Small updates this week. Added the infamous engine cover and an Aeroskin hood protector. Was hoping the engine cover would help reduce engine noise more than it did (don't really care about how it looks) but I don't think it really did much. I do like this hood protector though, it ties the...
Great truck! Loving the subtle mods so far. Got my RC light bar today, hopefully going to install soon. Looks awesome on here.
Edit – did you ever find out what caused the issue on yours?
Thanks, I'm just now realizing that not all Rangers have the black bumper so I'm guessing it was either part of the STX special edition package on my truck or the fact that it's an XL. Either way I like it. Planning to trim down the air dam up front to give it a shorter look eventually.
Still no real fix for this two years later? Crazy. I've only had a couple calls while driving so far but one today was with a client and it was annoying to have to unplug my phone while driving and switch to speaker to fix in the moment.
Yeah great stuff, I had ordered the chrome bolt before buying my ranger. Then got it home and realized there's no chrome lettering on the tailgate like every other car ever haha.
I was on the fence about whether or not I wanted to pull the trigger on the raptor grille for a while. Ended up buying the eBay one with LEDs and though I can’t speak to long term durability, I think it’s pretty good quality. Fits great and looks awesome!
I am planning on giving the engine cover a shot, so I guess I can update my annoyance complaint to "having to purchase a $100 foam accessory to try and mask ugly engine noise". Aware of forscan, have no intentions of using it at the moment (don't own a PC).
For what they are I love them. My plans for this truck don't include much off-roading at the moment but I hated the factory suspension and wanted to upgrade. For the price point, these are perfect for me. For a total investment of about 1k (including the parts and labor for all four corners...
I've seen it mentioned on the forums but something that still bugs me is the engine noise, specifically the sewing machine sound (fuel injectors?) only to be made worse by additional piped in noise through the speakers. I'm starting to get used to it but I remembered how off-putting it is the...
Installed Morimoto XB LED side markers today. I did use dielectric grease on the connections per the instruction card provided – others on here have experienced issues with water getting in and ruining them. Hoping they hold up because they really improve the look a lot vs. the stock orange markers.
I know practically nothing about electronics so I'm glad they included a note. It's such a tiny amount needed, for the price they should absolutely include a little tube. I just installed mine, greased everything haha. Hoping it holds up because they look great.
Just got the same side markers from Stage 3 in the mail the other day. Was planning to install them until I read card that came with it so I’m curious now. Did you use dielectric grease on install?
