  1. 2019 Ranger MPGs

22.6 mpg at 80 mph on an Idaho Hwy. Felt that was pretty good for a 4 banger in a truck.
  2. Exhaust options and sound

Those set ups sound good but are a bit spendy.
  3. WARNING: Mud Kills Alternators

Experienced this issue with my Jeep Cherokee. Alternator sits waaaaay too low in the right side. One mud hole was all it took to kill my alternator.

  5. FX4 Suspension Bounce

Soooo. When I aired my tires "down" today I noticed that they were aired up way over the 30 psi recommended on my door sticker. I actually aired down to the recommended 30 PSI and after being on the beach I had to drive on pavement to find a safe spot to air back up. OMG the difference in the...
  6. SABER Ranger Club Thread

I forgot about the sand terrain mode. Lol. Let me first say that the stock tires are HORRIBLE in the sand. They were a little better after I aired down but still felt like I was going to get stuck if I even slowed down when in the soft stuff. I mostly stayed near the beach in the packed sand and...

  8. Walmart Tire Waiver

I've been reading that Walmart won't install oversized tires on our trucks. Stopped there today just to price some tires and the tech told me Walmart can install oversized tires on lifted trucks. My advice: simply tell them your truck is lifted.
  9. Bed Tent

85.5 inches so should work in theory. Other problem is that it doesn't look like the wheel well cut outs on the mattress match up with the wheel Wells in the Ranger.

A mean girl called my truck..... ORANGE!!!
  11. Bed Tent

Seriously need one of these tents and air mattresses but I'm 6'1". I know that with the tailgate down the bed is over 6' and it looks like the napier tent sides extend all the way to the end of the tailgate but what about the interior? There's only a height on their website and not something...
  12. What car/truck are you replacing with the new Ranger?

2019 Subaru WRX, 1986 Ford XLT 2WD, 1998 ZJ 5.9 liter and possibly my 2017 Mustang GT. Time to get down to one vehicle for a change instead of one for winter, one for summer, one for hauling and one for wheelin'.
  13. Budget Mods

LOVE ME SOME XJ'S. My first trail rig was an XJ. Took that think everywhere. Even did some trails in MOAB, Colorado rockies, etc. Good times.
  14. Question about Lift/Leveling Kits

I've lifted a few Jeeps in my day and usually going up to 3" doesn't create any untoward problems. That being said any lift changes the geometry and creates added stress on the drive line and suspension so things can wear out faster. I've only ever had to change the pinion angle or "relocate the...
  15. FX4 Suspension Bounce

This is my first truck in 20 years so I'm not an expert but the suspension seems soft to me, which I like. Part of the reason I never purchased a truck is because they always rode like cr*p. I think it rides smoother than both my Mustang GT and WRX that I traded in. I have taken if off-road just...
  16. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

I will never run a newer car without a catch can anymore. Put one on my 2017 Mustang GT and the amount of oil that was separated was disgusting. I couldn't imagine that much oil going back into my injection system.
  17. What is everyone paying for their 5th Gen Ranger?

With the trade in allowance I got just over $6000 off MSRP from Corwin Ford. Great dealership in SW Idaho if anyone is interested. I searched from the Oregon coast to Eastern Idaho for the perfect color, options and price. Only one other dealer could come close to their pricing and it was in...

  19. SABER Ranger Club Thread

I kinda like the wheels so probably just replace the tires.
