$700-1000 for installation is too high. I paid $500 for installation and alignment in Tulsa, OK. High quotes often mean they don't want the job or are unsure how to do it. I was lucky enough to be near a dealer that had a specific department to install aftermarket accessories. They do suspension...
According to the dealer that installed mine the sensors are not adjustable. I like that they are not adjustable because before my Fox install they alarmed on every curb, parking block and large rock in my driveway. The alarms are much quieter now and I'm at peace again.
Recently installed Fox suspension kit so don't need these anymore. I realize our trucks probably don't need parts yet but down the road someone may break something while wheeling.
2 Front FX 4 coil over take offs
2 rear FX 4 shocks
We're compressed and boxed when removed. Very heavy so might...
My biggest peeve with the raked suspension is when I was off roading. the front sensors would alarm on every little rut. Now it only goes off if I'm in a big hole. I also think the greatly increased approach angle saved my butt this past weekend from plowing into a hole I misjudged. I probably...
I went to camp gruber but it was nothing but shale rock on all the trails so I didn't stay very long. Last weekend I went to keystone lake orv and it was decent. It had mostly mud and sand so I had some fun. I was the only truck in the park so I didn't get too crazy.
A tip from the dealer: half shafts are apparently pressed into the hub assembly and it is very easy to destroy the bearing assembly inside the boot if you start tugging on it and it hasn't been fully pressed out.
Not like the old days when you removed a castle nut and everything slid out easily.
To me it looks like there is still a little bit of rake on my truck but could just be a figment of my imagination. Front coil overs are adjustable so if I wanted I could go higher down the road. I'm sure the dealers have some sort of height guidelines to maintain the warranty.
There is someone who put 255/80s on a stock truck somewhere on the forum. Don't recall if he had to modify the crash bars but that would be my only concern with that size.
Just picked up my truck today after getting the Ford Performance Level kit installed by the dealer and while I only drove it a short distance home the difference in the ride is very noticeable. Ford even let me use my Ford Pass points to cover some of the cost. I think this upgrade was well...
Another tire update. These tires are HORRIBLE in the rain. Even with just a bit of throttle these will break loose. I suspect it's just a harder compound and lack of rear end weight but I have to be very careful in the rain. Gonna have to find some sand bags for the winter.
Just thought everyone should know.......I just ordered my..........
"FORD Performance Off-Road Leveling Kit With Tuned Suspension"
Lol. Will keep everyone updated on how it goes. Will be the first time I won't be installing the kit myself but I'm getting too old and I don't have access to my...
