    That is the Cross Traffic Allert. When you put your Truck in Reverse that will pop up with a loud and rapid bing, bing, bing alert tone when it senses a Vehicle coming toward your vehicle from the rear sides. Much different that the Front and Rear bumper proximity warnings.

    Well, my comment was about the Tailgate Damper not the auto Start/Stop. I too use an LED Nitelite to disable S/S.

    The Damper isn't about lifting. It's about slowly opening. If your spring loading slows it when it opens then you don't need this.
