Got an update today! The extended warranty pulled through and my cost will be a $200 deductible and some one time use bolts at the tune of $70. Still shocked that it needed replacement after 23k miles but it looks like I’ll hold onto it a little bit longer.

That started up out of no where for me and it did that when it went out the first time

I would take it in to get checked, especially if you have some kind of warranty. Mine was doing that going into fourth from 1-3 but mostly slipping into fourth. According to the dealer, there were metal shavings in my fluid and that’s what they’re basing their recommendation for a replacement for.

I just paid mine off six months ago after 2.5 years and was hoping to go at least 3 years before considering a new vehicle but perhaps not. We shall see.

One can hope but the way I see it, the 10r80 is supposed to be a more robust transmission than the 10r60 so I would look into extended warranty’s if I were you

The front belt was easy, the second one not so much. Decided to leave that for next weekend as it started to get hot by noon so I’ll be sure to inspect that seal though I didn’t see any leaks anywhere. Also tried to fix my backup camera with the new harness and that didn’t fix it.

Considering the cost of replacement transmissions and my second one is going in for service after only 21k miles after being replaced, I would spend the money for the known quality. If I keep this truck much longer.

Looks like the fix is to replace the wiring according to that TSB. Just so happens that I want to add the 7-pin connector, and now have the excuse to replace it.

I am hoping tomorrow will be dry enough for me to take a look before I work tomorrow. Any chance the wiring harness for the backup camera could be part of the issue? I never did get around replacing it and since it started working properly, I had forgotten about it
