I've had them on my truck for about 5k miles now. I like them a lot but having some issues with getting them balanced the way I'd like...might be the shop I've dealt with a couple of times, might need to get them road-force balanced. That aside they've been great both on road and off.
We're never going to be able to use the beds on our trucks if somebody doesn't make a dampener kit soon! Our tailgates are so heavy it is impossible to pop the latch and lower it by hand. I'm so frustrated by this I might dump my truck and go buy a Prius!
Meh, emissions in North America are a drop in the buck when compared to air pollution coming out of countries like China and India. Also, pretty harsh commentary from a guy who lives as close to the U.S. border as one can possibly get. ;)
I had a 2014 Tacoma Off-Road and it was a great truck, but I like my Ranger waaaay more. Seem pretty equal off-road so far, which is a good thing . The 'GEN 3' Tacoma was never on my radar...swing and a miss for Toyota IMO.
If it does drag and get beat up just take it off later. I hit a lot of trails in stock trucks or SUVs and never had problems as long as I resisted the urge to get crazy/stupid. Tricked out vehicles look cool but stock vehicles tend to do pretty well on even moderate trails.
