Thanks all! I'll disable ASS soon and replace the battery perhaps this weekend. Hoping I don't actually need a maintainer.
I get the charging/bms/etc is all more complex than what I'm used to, but I'm still perplexed how it never once kicked on after or during any of the 2-500mi trips it's been...
The customer may have spoken, but with their heads up their asses, I doubt it was heard.
Their EV offerings have been cracked and with their electronics-based recalls, prob best they go back to ICE and (we'll) take the nut kick at bailout time.
I'm hoping Slate is able to show them how to make...
Forscan adapter in the mail... If the it gets in by early afternoon I'll be posting "did i brick my truck" by nightfall.
I understand that; I'd assume if there was some hardware (eliminator) triggered by that switch, it'd have been triggered by doing it again.
I'm assuming the battery is...
Thanks all! I'll try a scan tool to see it if it stops again. I'll pop the hood and see if that disconnect is loosely reconnected... i haven't touched it intentionally and don't recall noticing anything loose or otherwise when i charged the battery.
I have the forscan dongle coming so i can...
Understood, but this would be something I'd have to do each time I get in the truck, yeah? I wasn't doing anything (intentionally) to cause ASS to be disabled... it just was. I don't have a habit of using either mode... i only used tow for the first time on this ranger a couple days before ASS...
I get short trips don't charge and a lot of mine are quite short, but i've also done 2-300mi trips. Absolutely never once kicked on. Didn't even kick on after i fully charged the battery.
That's the fun part. I have no idea. Bought the truck used and ASS never once took affect in over 5mo.
Does tow/haul stay on after the truck is turned off and back on? I've put near 10k miles on it since owning it, driving it almost daily, short trips (<10mi), long trips (200mi+), city, highway... ASS never kicked in. Could the battery have been that "bad" despite working for 5mo without it...
Since getting this ranger in Aug/Sept, I've assumed that it had a tune it felt peppier than the first and Auto Start Stop has been disabled. Not once has the ASS kicked in until just today. Nothing changed today. The only thing that comes to mind, and it doesn't make sense, is recently my...
With ACC, f you deal with sleet or snow, when the lower sensor gets iced/covered, you can't even use regular CC. Beyond that it's nice except for assholes that fly around and go back to sleep when they get in front of you.
Can confirm on the latter and assuming there's no rush, i top off at 71. There was a continually noticed .5-1mpg difference on average just dropping from 74 to 71 and about 2-3 from 79. Granted, there's also more de/acceleration going on the faster you go given dummies sleeping in the passing...
When it's not freezy out, i can get 23mpg on highway trips. In the freezy i can maintain 20-21ish. Reasonable accelerations and topping out at 71mph or 9 over... whichever is first.
Mixed / 1000s of miles on "trip 2" says 19. 87 octane
Ehh... at 38k ish i found that they only lean over so far before flopping over to the roof. Not sure if that counts. I'm trying again and only about 10k into my own @39k mi... aiming to maintain >=3 wheels with ground contact.
Started off the day by getting slightly stuck in the driveway by bottoming out in a long drift... was thinking i was probably going to slow, but didn't expect the drift to be so deep. Was right and wrong. Powering out may have woke up the neighbors...
How why?
Looks good! I saw that after coming across another of your posts. Notice much difference while driving? You went with 1.8"?
Might have to poke around and see what I can do to keep it level at most. Spend a lot of time hopping in and out of the bed in the spring-summer and its already hard...
Poster hasn't been logged in for 2yr now : / Hopefully they'll appear...
If not... as i'm logging tire tickets for my own designs.... here's some notes/threads:
