i have a magnetic gray, crew cab Lariat. I’m happy with the seats and dash, but the center console is blah! It seems to me there should be a simple solution to pulling part of the console and wrapping it somehow to add some color.
Has anyone considered doing this?
Remote start- won’t have a vehicle without it
Lane departure-has already saved me once
Adaptive cruise control-love it
Auto high beams- super duper fantastic
Blind spot warning-love it.
I know I could search multiple posts of where you got good prices of bed covers, but I’d like to consolidate the sites with the best prices. I’m looking for soft covers as this is all the budget allis.
As I’ve stated in other posts, I’m an old fart. My knowledge of paint protection is a can of Turtle Wax paste wax. Lots of elbow grease and never really happy with the results.
I inquired of a reputable detail shop about ceramic treatment and was quoted something like $500 for my new truck...
It’s interesting to see you and others in the market place going away from chrome. I’m not being critical at all. I love chrome, but I’m an old fart. I was going to order the sport pkg but went with chrome and glad I did. My son bought an explorer sport in black and it looks strange to me...
Here’s an interesting article which refutes the claim of improved mileage.

As I stated in a previous post, I know nothing about bed covers. But in my research, most every manufacturer claims that mpg improves with the addition of a bed cover. I recall a Myth Buster episode where they tested whether or not leaving the tailgate down improved mileage. Their conclusion...
ive got an old acquaintance that owns an auto accessory shop. I asked him about soft covers (wish I could get a hard one but no$). He suggested a Rugged Tri-fold cover.
Question 1: any experience with the Rugged brand?
Question 2: why a tri-fold vs a roll up cover?
He quoted me a price of...
one complaint I have with my truck is the limited amount of storage space. I want to find a visor organizer for those regularly used items. Anyone have a suggestion?
I’ll add an additional comment. The small strips that you cut out for the wheel wells fit nicely in the gaps behind the wheel wells. These are small enough that if you drove thru a car wash, you might want to pull them out, otherwise they can add a bit of security.
Someone earlier mentioned using one of these mats in their truck. These mats, which sell for roughly $45 are 6’x4’x.75”. Clearly since the bed is only 5’ long, a trim job is required. Also, the distance between the wheel wells is less than 4’, so some more trimming is required.
I mentioned...
I’m busy laying 7 pallets of sod. The mat is plenty heavy but won’t fit exactly around the wheel well but close enough for me. If the sod doesn’t kill me, I’ll do my best at measuring it as I cut it.
I’m following someone else’s suggestion of using a horse stall mat from Tractor Supply. It’s 4’x6’ so it will have to be trimmed but the best part is it is 3/4” thick and sells for $44.
