  1. Not dead yet...

There's more where that came from: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/aurora-ranger-thread.29228/
  2. Not dead yet...

The local dealer was willing to replace some of the interior pieces we had concerns with. So there she goes. Ranger is gone. Explorer is here. It's got 38k miles to the 60k on the ranger. Really the intent was less about getting something newer and more about something that fits the family, and...
  3. Not dead yet...

It looks like it wasn't until 2025 that dual injection got incorporated across the platform, including the Bronco, Ranger, and explorer. So no matter what if I want a timberline I get our old 2.3L ecoboost. It's okay. I know its quirks and know to put a catch can on right away :).
  4. Not dead yet...

Looking at 2022's that have just come off lease, and there's only 13 2024 timberlines that are still "new" left in the country, since they axed that trim for 2025. We are considering going to get one of those as well. I looked at a couple of 2022 Timberlines locally, neither of which passed the...
  5. Not dead yet...

It's not gone yet... but my wife and I decided with our growing family it will be best to trade the Ranger in for a Timberline trim (off road) Explorer. It won't be nearly as capable as the Ranger, but will be more practical and will still get us going camping while I get the Disco up and...
  6. Snow Plow on a Ranger

Plow compatibility not withstanding I wouldn't worry about the transmission. The CDF drum issue is a design problem irrespective of strength. The 10R80 is the same transmission in the F150 raptor, so it is TOUGH out of the box. The strength of the transmission is not something I would be...
  7. 2.3Eco in a Disco

Alright, this will be my last post in this thread for the next 6–8 months. The engine is fully installed and torqued into the Rover. It was VERY satisfying to see the suspension squat as the rover finally took the weight of the engine. While I had the hoist up, I also took the opportunity to...
  8. 2.3Eco in a Disco

I ran into a couple snags with the alternator relocation, the radiator is too close for a rear mount alternator, and repositioning to the AC compressor won't leave enough engagement of the serpentine belt on the water pump. So I ordered the blackbird P38 steering conversion kit, and got the...
  9. Are the FOX Performance 2.0 Coil-Over IFP Front Shocks worth the money to put on my 2022 for ranger xlt fx4?

Whether or not it's worth it is up to you, and how you plan to use your vehicle. ;)
  10. Are the FOX Performance 2.0 Coil-Over IFP Front Shocks worth the money to put on my 2022 for ranger xlt fx4?

Shocks make a big difference no doubt. Due to rebuild requirements, cost and performance I'd actually recommend going with Old man Emu shocks. I have Nitrocharger's, and they're really fantastic for on-road performance and occasional off-road. The top of the line shocks we can get for our...
  11. Where are the pilots at?

@shovonmshahriar I see that profile picture. Get your ass in this thread ;).
  12. Door Handle Replacements

This would be my suggestion too.
  13. Long Range America Fuel Tank

How about from an electronics standpoint, does the sender still work fine? Do you need to calibrate the amount in forscan or anything?
  14. Can I even afford not to?

Alright, which one of you bought it? I just drove by and saw it get loaded onto a flatbed.
  15. Overkill fluid changes

"Tell me you hate money without telling me you hate money"
  16. Long Range America Fuel Tank

Wrenching on a DD, vs. a toy is a whole different level of stress. :giggle: ?
  17. Long Range America Fuel Tank

Alright I decided I am going to spring for it. It's not cheap but it's really my ONLY frustration with this truck and the only thing that makes me want to buy something else (well OK I wish it was manual too, but that's for another day). $2k mod is a lot cheaper than something new especially...
  18. Extended Warranty---Buyer Beware

They sell extended warranties so hard because on average, they make money on them. Therefore on average, you will lose money on it. I always forego options like that.
  19. Long Range America Fuel Tank

I would absolutely use it all the time. The other poster was concerned about payload.
  20. 2.3Eco in a Disco

That took longer than I would have liked, but on round 3, I finally got made a trasfercase frame mount adapter that worked. Now the engine is in. I can conclusively say the alternator will not fit, like it's close... but not nearly close enough to make it work. So I'll pull the A/C compressor...
