I assume you're changing all plugs? You can do just the rusty ones abd the boots. From what I saw on mine, water did not go high enough to damage the COP. So we replaced the water damaged boot. I bought the cover myself for $176 and am going to install it myself and try to waterproof the spark...
Yea mine does that too.
I don't like the automatic vent settings for heat or cool. Would like both to do dash vent and feet vent. But heat does windshield and cool does directly into my eyes!
Looks good,
How do you like the Bilsteins? Thinking about getting those myself.
Any mods you needed to do to make the tires fit? Whats the offset on those wheels?
So I'm interested in getting this. I was under my truck and saw how stupid hard it is to get to the current dip stick.
Does anyone know if this will cause an issue at the dealership if I want to have them do a fluid change in the future?
I assume warranty is not voided by this, but I just...
Pretty much my experience too today.
Had to pay like $200 to replace rusty plug and coil boot. No engine cover provided under TSB or warranty. I'll need to buy that on my own.
Yea I'm a little pissed at how this truck was made and how they won't fix this after. Pretty much have a truck I...
Hi Benny,
I need to get the engine cover to cover my rusty spark plugs. Can you help me out?
Additionally I need a part (coolant tank reservoir for battery) for my mom's Ford Fusion Hybrid. Any discounts available for smaller parts like that?
Have you checked plug number 1? I've heard conflicting reports if the cover actually solves the issue. I'm thinking about pushing the dealer to give me one under the TSB but I want to see if people with the cover have had this issue.
Was it penetrating fluid? Not sure how brake fluid would help.
In any case, I need to try to remove the rust flakes in there before changing it. Maybe a magent or blow them out, but if some rust flakes get into the cylinder that shouldnt be too bad, right?
Thanks!
No CEL yet but again, might show up when it rains. That plug looks so bad I'm really concerned it may break if I ever try to replace the plug myself...was thinking about doing that at 50K miles....
Welp, decided to check my spark plugs with a rain storm coming next week.
First plug was screwed. Boot was HARD to get off. Mine looks pretty bad. So far I don’t think I have drivability issues but we'll see with the rain coming...Sometimes I do notice some jerkyness while driving. My truck...
I think I may know what sound you are talking about. I bought my ranger used and do notice it while cruising at certain speeds or when throttle is at certain positions.
I just thought it was this TSB...so far I'm not really concerned about it. I just think it's a weird quirk of the truck...
I don't think it's battery related. I had the same thing after I got a new battery. I think it has to do with the UI software booting up. Or possibly if the door is open it won't make the sounds through the speakers like normal.
Got my oil analysis back. Only minor concern for me was fuel and the oil viscosity.
No idea what oil was in it as I bought it used and this is what came out.
Could your issue be related to this?
Where there is a small slit milled in between cylinder walls and it makes a weak spot?
I thought Ford revised the block after 2019.
