With a dark grey truck I think you could successfully pull off silver, bronze, or black - I agree that a graphite or an anthracite color could clash.
Bright silver wheels on a dark grey truck looks great in my opinion. The right bronze could be spectacular as well.. just depends on if you like...
Agree with the sentiment that carbon buildup doesn't seem to be an issue that comes up on this forum. There was a member that did a 25k scope of his valves: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/carbon-buildup-at-25k-miles-a-short-story.21462/
But he hasn't followed up and hasn't been on the...
WOW @DukeCanBuildit that's a crazy scary situation. I'm glad you aren't more hurt than you are. I'm sure that Amazon driver is going to be telling this story to anyone that will listen 😂
@DukeCanBuildit - I ordered that Orion toolkit because I can't find one even close to that price without the t-bar on it. I've got to get this job going on my end as well. I s'pose it's sore hands for me.
I saw a pneumatic one for $150 - if I were doing this 10x a day as a tech I'd pick that...
Might be worth it to run to Harbor Freight and grab a borescope inspection camera with a light on it... Not sure if that's something Autozone rents but maybe.
I think it's gorgeous! You made a great choice. You'll never regret having "honda" efficiency paired with Ford capability. The bed will be plenty for most jobs. How often do you haul sheet rock?
Cheers! Enjoy it in great health and enjoy your retirement.
It's always a bit perplexing to me how company / corporate interest and strategy gets in the way of overwhelming market demand. The fact that they won't sell us the PHEV Ranger which they've made for the rest of the world; confirms to me that the "$30,000k EV truck" is a mid-size. Perhaps it...
Well with all this Eagles talk I probably should share this story - my wife's aunt called her last Friday and asked her if she wanted tickets to the Sphere show. Apparently a friend of her aunt's was planning on coming out here in March to see them, but got a notification on his phone that his...
I think since 2026 according to this article, haha. It's being shown at Con Expo (Construction trade show,) just down the road from me in Las Vegas, NV.
I'm sure Caterpillar bought the 450 platform from Ford or is paying a per-unit license. It's not really any different than Roush or Hennessey...
A competitor to the G-Wagon? The G is a Veblen good with ADM's in the 6-figures. Do they really think they're going to come out of the gate stealing market share from people buying $300,000 SUV's??
@dondonbabyraptor - that Mustang is sa-weeeeeeet! Congratulations!
There will come a day where you'll need to rent a home depot truck or phone a friend, sure. But that 5.0 seems like a fairly sufficient coping mechanism for missing the Ranger. Enjoy it and stay out of trouble.
That's the dad...
I think Farley knows this and this is why he's fixated on his "$30,000 truck". Problem for Farley is the reality of a $30,000 truck is a Slate. And I don't think he has something that spartan in mind.
@Grumpaw - yeah I've had the thought that if this is to be a $30,000 truck it's going to need to have a $27,000-$28,000 sticker.
Farley calls it a $30,000 truck but I've noticed the rest of the executives and engineers quoted call it an "around $30,000 truck."
So yeah, $40,0000.
The goal of the $30,000 EV truck is up against some headwinds, according to Ford's own CFO.

It is a bummer; but every time I have a clunky downshift and I have this thought, I try to remind myself the cost of a transmission vs a new auto loan.
Consider that most 6g's are still relatively low mileage compared to the 5g's. I feel like the transmission talk has ramped up during my time...
