My other tip is the flat panel behind the grill you need to remove to access the lower tabs, install that before the grill, makes it a lot easier. I may have installed the latch cover before putting the grill back on too, I can't recall for sure. Just be sure that all of the tabs are lining up...

It's not that bad. I've had the front off twice, once to swap the grill, and then again to swap the lights.

For a halogen bulb, that is about the norm for me. HIDs I get about 6-7 years out of. LEDs, we'll see.

Was it ever tested with the headlights Aux power direct to the battery? Is there a reason to not wire it that way if that was the directions for the lights? Do these lights have too much parasitic draw to use that way?

With my RS the NA "Sony" radio face plate didn't have a dedicated display off button, so I had to use the same method you mentioned there. The EU "Sync" radio face plate having a dedicated display off button was one of the main reasons I swapped that.
