I think the app from Weigh Safe is free. It's geared toward their hitches where you can input an actual tongue weight from their built in scale, but you can select a non weight safe hitch estimate it to use as a second check tool. I'm sure if you select non weight safe hitch, they will show a...
As mentioned in another recent thread about a toy hauler, the empty weight of some trailers have a very high tongue weight, but when properly loaded may be within the specs of the Ranger. But, only way to know is by using scales. And while determining that, it may be best to rent a 3/4 ton truck...
I'll add a bit of advice for renting camper trailers and such as I've done that several times since getting my Ranger. I discuss the brakes and requirement for the brake on the trailer before pickup with the owner, and then when I get there I test with an "around the block" drive. If the brakes...
If you disconnected power to the drivers door module you'll need to reset the "park' locations to that feature works again.
Put the window all the way up, then release the button and pull it again for a few seconds (maybe 5 or 10, I don't remember the timing), then to all the way down and...
I saved everyone of those nails that hadn't rusted to to the width of a wire. The rusted ones were near that section that had been previously reworked in the laundry room, proving they didn't do enough work on it when they did it last time.
I did the toilet with new wax ring years ago, was one...
Redoing the floor sucks. I had a drain leak in the wall and ruin the floor in the kitchen. Floor was one surface from the kitchen, through the dining area and into the laundry/utility room. I had to remove all the lower cabinets and a wall between the dining area and laundry room to remove the...
Well, it sounds as about as bad as the "Anal [Ford model name]" joke. Examples: "Anal Probe", "Anal Excursion", "Anal Explorer", and the list just keeps going.
F150 has its own issues, IMO go with F250 or bigger if you don't think the Ranger can do it. With the F150 you will have to add a weight distributing hitch to the setup if you get over 5,000lb (almost guaranteed with only 200lb of play from empty) for the trailer, that limits the needed flex on...
It is possible, but you'll really best served by getting the wiring diagram for your truck and looking for circuits that support options your truck may be lacking. With as many modules now use CAN to communicate there are less unused wires between major areas though. But it is possible still...
I'm fairly sure that is what I was using as well. I know for a while it had a work around, where it wrapped the AA connection in a virtual HU interface (or something) and allowed him to inject obd2AA or something. But I think that required a rooted phone. It got to be a cat/mouse game. Google...
Reminds me of the old app I use to use that Google kept blocking.
This was where I settled on the layout, nice and clean. If any codes popped up while driving it would announce them as a notification.
AA wireless and VPN do not work together, even in my car with direct AA wireless support, it's not the adaptor, it's how AA works with the wireless connection. You need to disable the VPN while connected to the truck's BT somehow.
I was speaking of options in the Google (formerly Google One)...
There is some setup to get it working auto, if you have the wifi hotspot in the truck that you use, "whitelist" that AP name, and your home Wi-Fi AP name, so that the VPN is not auto enabled every time you connect to it. Then make sure that in the AAwireless settings that you set it to Auto...
Right, WDH does not reduce the weight on the tongue, the bars help to "project" a portion of the weight forward through leverage to prevent having too light a steer axle and improve stability. On the Ranger there is not requirement for a WDH, using one is purely optional, but does not hurt since...
Normally it is exactly as @Dgc333 stated. If the pins are not fully in place, the plastic clip that should lock them in place will not drop into position and while it's raised, the front cover can't insert all the way as it has tabs that should over the plastic clips to lock them down.
