Congrats on the new ride. I purchased a 2020 about a month ago with 50ish thousand miles. It had decent maintenance records but I also opted to purchase a 4 year, 48,000 extended warranty just in case.
Recently I took the truck to the local dealer for:
-Transmission Flush
-Coolant flush
-Oil...
thank you, I purchased through eBay. The listing shows blank areas for the “ford” and “eco boost” areas but the actual item is delivered with the proper logos. I was able to do a “best offer” purchase for $95. I then sourced the 2 mounting bolts online and went to Home Depot for the m8 (or m6...
Ended up going with the flush. I also had a coolant flushed while I was there, that was another $190. The service writer recommended trans and coolant flush at 60k. For $450 bucks for both services I wasn’t mad
On my 2020 FX2, I was averaging 22-23 combined in the stock configuration. After the lift and tires (33x10.50r17), I’m averaging 20 combined, but 17-18 city average.
MPG took a hit for sure, but the truck looks night and day better compared the stock front rake and small passenger car tires...
I called another dealer yesterday, about my mileage and what they recommended. That dealer also said the flush is the best option at 57k miles. They said the filter isn’t necessary until 100k.
To confirm though, they quoted me $300 for the flush, and $850 for the filter change/pan seal and new...
Installed a B&M diff cover today. Got a killer deal on it since the power coat was grey instead of black. Installed a new gasket and 1.5 quarts of valvoline 75w-90. The cover is made for Jeeps but fits our Dana 44 perfectly. Only issue is when using the top fill area, you need to use a 10mm...
This is what the service writer sent me:
We have a machine that does our fluid exchanges so the possibilities of that happening are really slim. There is no warranty.
This is the job they are quoting me $260 for.
The ford dealer is quoting me $675 for a filter and fluid change. Or $260 for a fluid change only. Something seems off. They say the filter change isn’t required until 100k. They do the fluid exchange all the time without issue. I’m confused.
I’m also interested in hearing some options. I have 57k miles on my 2020 (bought it used a few weeks ago). I purchased a 4 year / 48k mile warranty that covers everything. But I called my local Ford dealer today and they quoted me $280 for a transmission flush, they said no need to drop the pan...
Finally got the tires/wheels installed. Those crash bars are no joke, very hard steel. Took lots of time and about 4 cutoff wheels for the whole job. Ended up leaving 1/2 the rear bar and tire clear without issue. The 33x10.50 tire has just enough poke with the -12 wheel to not look obnoxious.
Had some time before work today so I got the tires mounted on the wheels. I paid for a new set of TPMS so I can keep my OEM tire/wheel setup as a spare.
These wheels have a -12 offset so I know the front crash bar needs to be removed. Does anyone else have recommendations on what else needs to...
