Would be genuinely interested to hear what kind of range you get with that trailer if you removed the cab over the bed. Have always wondered how those benefit MPG when towing a tall trailer near max GVW.
Yes, studies have shown that the tailgate down doesn't really impact much as the air lands...
Well, that Escape hybrid is a typical class II rating and can tow a max of ~3K lbs with no appreciable load capacity (ie: a few hundred lbs here and there). You're going to need a heck of a lot longer lead time than 2.5 more years to find that miracle 4x4/AWD/Hybrid truck you're after. And...
As with all things, this wont be a problem at all. Until it is.
The engineers at Ford probably just made up their ratings anyway.
Don't forget to report the trailer to your insurance company as, based on experience, they get broken into all the time or stolen. Might ask them what happens in...
Have you had any emergency braking situations to deal with so far? We haven't towed anywhere near that size/weight (and haven't had any problems whoatsoever), but i'm curious to hear how the brakes were so close to max weight.
Slightly off topic, and not on Silver Surfer's topic at all, but...
Some points from my perspective:
- Not financing the truck hurts your negotiating power, not improves it. Captive finance is where the dealership makes their new-car-sales money, not on your purchase.
- As it's for a business, why on earth wouldn't you finance it to aid in depreciation and the...
Have to agree, 33' is territory for a larger class of towing rig.
I believe you'll also be over the frontal area consideration with that large of a trailer. However, your link doesn't give enough info.
Betting towing that thing will induce quite a few "events" and require a change of shorts...
No, not referring to your proclivities behind closed doors, pun intended, but even on these here digital pages we can see the overwhelming percentage of Ranger owners who purchased a crew cab so the truck can haul your "crew" (assuming that means family/children in the real world) at the...
Have you driven anything with front leaf springs before? Now THAT is a wild ride!
Truck looks great, and very few of us SCAB folks on these here digital pages.
Did you option it out with the black wheels or is that the "black pack"? (whatever they called the no-color option)
Today we found out that 4th of July fireworks are not happening or allowed on the beach. While this is a huge bummer as it's a great event on the beach, it makes sense. Populations swell drastically down there as the only area nearby that allow(ed) fireworks.
Seven years ago I was down there...
Thread has been slow so I thought i'd ask the locals if they know of any actual firework shows going on for the 4th or is everything on lockdown?
We're planning on heading to the family cabin along the coast down near Illwaco. Don't mind the old pic back when I had a then-current-year Mazdaspeed3.
Post 1 and 24 of our build thread will have the exact manufacturer for the bars, cover and everything else we got for the various things we can mount. Plus additional pics and what not.
Don't want to spam this thread with a bunch of duplicate info :)
SCAB build, Seattle WA
I've tried them and they are nice. They come with a heavy marketing budget (which is reflected in the price) so i've stayed away from their products beyond free trials. There are plenty of chemicals which will do what AMMO does and better, but AMMO has the video/education component to help you...
Finally moved the bulk of my detailing equipment and chemicals over to the new garage.
It's been a few years since I was taking boutique detailing clients as my time has been spent on other things. There were more than quite a few bottles of expired chemicals and "thinning the heard" of...
It's unlikely those are the same business from a tax perspective. Interesting to know how large Ford of Renton is. They have quite the footprint, it looks like a few of their buildings serve the entire suite of dealerships owned by the same group.
Will have to ask a buddy who runs his own PDR...
Pretty crazy bar on that thing. Since you're a fabricator, what do you think the load that single bar can take out by the headlights? Is it really just for pushing small bushes aside? Can't imagine that thing taking much of the vehicle weight along that looooooong tube without becoming an...
Generally the dealerships will be happy to sell you the liner, then outsource it to a shop nearby they have a rate agreement with. Both companies make some money off you and they are happy.
I'm unaware of any dealer that has ever had clear bra, tinting, paintless dent removal or bed lining...
That thing should heat up like a fire cracker on 4th of July at that voltage and typical cigarette plug construction. Ticking time bomb? Possibly! Depends on how much you like to risk car fires. I would only use that with supervision and monitoring the temperature of the plug and if I felt...
