  1. No AM radio

I have some specific training in the radio communications field. The problem is not the radio interfering with the car, it's that the car's high-power electronics produces a lot of electromagnetic interference that AM radios are sensitive to. The car's electronic environment interferes with AM...
  2. Ford Ranger Lightning!

Hybrid is the way to go a given the current state of the art in engines and motors. I'm surprised nobody has yet revived the gas turbine engine as the prime mover coupled to a generator / battery storage unit, with an all-electric powertrain. The next real innovative step would be micro-sized...
  3. Yellow circle on Dash Cluster

Well, since everyone's working from home now, maybe you can have it delivered. Send me some money, and I'll work something out with Uber or Doordash. :)
  4. THE MAVERICK IS GOING TOPLESS

I was doing just fine until I read the " ..., while the manual top requires an estimated five person team to operate. " sentence. LOL I blew right past the F-150 Convertible link like it wasn't even there...
  5. Does your gas tank pipe look like this?

Can't tell what part is the gas pump and what part is your truck. Can you take another photo without the nozzle in it?
  6. Engine cover (revisited)

I got the same steps, and mine's a SuperCab XL, too. I sprung for a few upgrades, but she makes regular dump runs, too.
  7. Lane assist surprised me today

I've turned off lane keeping assist in my last two vehicles. A Subaru Crosstrek and now the Ranger. They can't reliably tell the difference between a re-routed lane or a repair and the new lane continuation that deviates from the old path. Dangerous, when your own car tries to run you off the...
  8. Well…I Sold Out

    Still waiting myself...
  9. Dealer twice in 1 day, going back again

    AAAAAAAH! Not the dancing banana!
  10. Well…I Sold Out

That is what the Ridgeline WISHES it was. Fine looking sport truck. Following in the footsteps of the El Camino or the Ford Ranchero. Doesn't even need lowering. But you could... Did they sell good?
  11. Well…I Sold Out

Wow! Not exactly what I had in mind... This is South Florida. People would be tryin' to snatch my truck and slaughter it for black market beef...
  12. Well…I Sold Out

Wow! That's really nice work! Are you a pro?
  13. Well…I Sold Out

Mostly true. Even the little crease above the headlights. :) But it doesn't make me love the Ranger less. It makes me love the Taurus. I've never even seen one around in traffic.
  14. Well…I Sold Out

It's just the blue oval, but with clipping...
  15. Well…I Sold Out

I see it. It's a nice looking front end. Good styling is good styling. The lower grill sides are angled in more on the Taurus, and the Ranger headlight extends below the inflection point on the grille sides. I think that's what the Tremor"nostrils" are keying off of. You're kinda wrong...
  16. Someone is not getting their Ranger......

Tough to say. In the automaker business loop, cost savings is achieved by deleting parts, laying off personnel, and "pausing" R&D projects. In the railway space, cost savings is likely to take the form of "deferring" maintenance tasks. Labor disputes that are not resolved in favor of unions...
  17. Someone is not getting their Ranger......

Apparently they hit the emergency brakes, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_brake_(train) and actually managed to avoid hitting the truck, but the train ended up derailing even so.
  18. Ford CEO Finally Confirms New "Agency Model"

Does this mean it MIGHT be possible to get a new car deal done in LESS then 6 hours?
  19. Tranny not programmed differently for Tremors?

Great name! I like it! I actually do like S better for driving slow. Keeps the revs up, so throttle response is improved. If you leave it in "D"efault, it has to downshift two or three gears if you so much as nudge the gas. My standard drive is Trailer mode, because it is just less "busy"...
