I took 640 pounds of scrap lumber to the dump today. Crossed the scales at 5040 pounds (with me out of the truck paying he bill) and checked on line that my 21 FX4 Lariat weighs 4400 pounds.
Can't you simply add thd e locker and a stand alone push button? No messing with factory stuff then.
ARB has a stand alone version that uses an air pump and a switch.
So...I've upgraded my rear shocks to the 4600s, added a ASS defeating latching relay, added a throttle delay eliminator, replaced the DPMS device and my tailgate strut lift support will be here in a few days.
What's the next thing to make this a better 2021 Lariet FX4?
I'm thinking the Fitz...
Changed the DPFE switch today...should have been a 5 minute job except the short hose clip was put on behind the hose instead of in front of the hose. I could not grab the clip to expand it. Ended up cutting the hose off, jamming a screwdriver in between the clip and the hose and twisting it...
Deleted my ASS today!!!
Easy fix, getting to the push button was the hardest part, a long flat blade screwdriver from the passenger side to release the switches from the cover plate is the trick.
Test drive successful...no more seasickness on bumpy roads. How much more difference if I do the fronts?
And the throttle thing makes a difference, but not really sure if it's worth it. Might need to give that one a lot more driving to determine if it's a keeper.
Ok ..replaced the shocks today. Not too hard, but compressing them into the lower mount is entirely too difficult. Passenger side isn't as bad because you can use the axle tube as a lever rest for your forearms, but the drivers side is just brute strength.
Oh, and both of my bump stops are...
Does anybody make a smaller remote to get into the Ranger? The factory one is fairly large since it holds a key.
Id like one similar to the older Ford size just for opening the door.
Thanks
I read that replacing the stock shocks will help the ride. Bilstein 4600.
I was changing oil today (first time on this truck) and see that the front shocks say FX Pro on them.
Is that stock? Haven't looked at the rears yet.
