  1. Quick Lane Oil Change.....Not

I will be one to admit when I made a mistake. My work order says premium motor oil which says to me it’s regular oil, and so when I was looking at the code - against the manual - I presumed it was the code for the regular oil. Somehow I missed the difference in designation LSP6 (regular premium...
  2. Quick Lane Oil Change.....Not

Appreciate it. Maybe just the dealership I go to and the service writer doesn’t know. Maybe it automatically comes up on the work order as regular oil but it’s the synthetic blend they still put in cause the oil guys know it’s supposed to be blend for the works?
  3. Stop start eliminator not working

Yeah yeah yeah. Rub it in you got 50 bucks back. But funny that the delete costs less than getting the eliminator to stop it in the first place! Can’t win. They should have given you the other pair of tie downs instead of the 50 bucks back. Would have been a better trade off?
  4. Stop start eliminator not working

The ASS eliminator is a after market part. If it happens again I would take out the ASS eliminator out and manually turn it off for a stretch and if it comes on after you know you turned it off each time before driving then I would take it to the dealer cause then it would be a Ford warranty...
  5. One tire replaced, should I replace in pairs?

Replace in pairs if you ask me. That keeps the tires rotating on the same axle to be even. I hear your pain about Canadian Tire. Years ago - okay winter of 1987 to be exact - I had to get snow tires for my 1980 mazda 626. Really needed them living in the interior of BC. I went to Canadian Tire...
  6. Battery failing?

Had that message a couple of times when I first got the truck. I thought it was the USB key with my music plugged in that was doing some weird battery draw. But hasn’t happened again. Not sure why. Now something unrelated to our Rangers but has to do with Ford’s BMS. So far I think the...
  7. Quick Lane Oil Change.....Not

So really - these guys aren’t any more trained then the regular quick lube shops we all want to stay away from. I have to say I haven’t had that bad of an experience so far with my escape or ranger. However having said that I think I am getting ripped off on ā€œthe worksā€ for my ranger. Says the...
  8. What is this "mechanical" sound?

I saw these the other day on Amazon. I was thinking of getting some. Now i see it - damn they are good. I remember back in the 80’s they had sold stick on toggle switches with eject, missiles labels etc and had them in my car. These would bring back a little nostalgia from my high school days...
  9. Let's See Your Christmas Trees & Decorations

It’s the season! Thanks Dave for starting this thread for this year. We haven’t got our tree yet - we have to find a new tree farm near us in the fraser valley, BC. The one we had been going to for the past 15 years retired last year. So all we got up is this for now
  10. Were 2019 Rangers Built Better?

I have a April 2021 build -XLT crew 4x4. Got 35000km on it now. I had one issue and that was the fuel sensor but fixed under warranty. Only thing that was wrong. So I think mine being built during the pandemic isn’t suffering any more issues than pre pandemic builds ( like some body fit issue -...
  11. I'll be facing a dilemma in a few months

Naw. That’s not a Bronco. This is a Bronco. ?
  12. Stereotype all over it.

What a tragic event. I feel for the family who lost their daughter. And the emptiness her friends, school peers and community are feeling right now.
  13. VW

I don’t know how I feel about the VW. I mean it’s a ranger but I like the front end less than I do the maverick. And with the squared wheel wells - people might think I am driving a Chevy ?. If it has a tail dampener I might consider it ?
  14. Rear Ride height a Design defect caught tooo late?

I came over from a ā€˜02 F150 to the Ranger. I am only 5’9ā€ but hasn’t been a real issue - the truck bed - not my height. I climb into the bed if I need to - or get my 14 year old to do it. I actually would have liked it if it has another inch or so taller bed sides. To me a defect would be like...
  15. Front Seat Headrests - Question

I don’t think anyone took it the wrong way - I certainly didn’t. I like the comparison of owning a Dodge to dating a psycho super model ?. There was Canadian band - The Northern Pikes - had a great song back in the 90’s. She ain’t pretty (she just looks that way). That would be a fitting song...
  16. Front Seat Headrests - Question

I figured this is some kind of penance for me -cause I did flirt with buying a ….. Ram last year. The Ford gods looked down and said - you shall not receive (fill in the blank) on your ranger for you have sinned by test driving a Dodge.
  17. Front Seat Headrests - Question

Okay at least I got the hood struts, have adjustable lumber support, chrome rings around the 12V plug caps, aluminum front fenders and managed to get my hands on engine cover early last year, managed to get rocker panel plugs from Amazon. No ecoboost badge. Crap. I am just a poser! I am not worthy!
  18. Front Seat Headrests - Question

Went and checked. Nope. The headrest doesn’t tilt. So I am out of the club. I would rather be in the 6 tie down hooks or the aluminum UCA club anyways then tilting headrests club?
  19. Front Seat Headrests - Question

Why not see if it is covered under warranty rather than trying to fix it first? It seems yours has some kind of defect as no one else so far has said they have had same issue. Mine lock in place and do not slide down. But of course I have to check if they tilt or not as it never crossed my mind...
  20. Bug Deflector 2

I only got one to protect the leading edge of the truck. I probably could have just put paint film there is guess. It is a pain only when trying to clean behind it well when I wash my truck. As far as bugs not sure how well it works but I am pretty sure it’s been good to deflect road gravel from...
