Totally Depends on the shell. Some would have no problem with it, as long as you are not a heavyweight.
If you are worried you could always make brace bars underneath.
I bought the molded ones through ford dealer.
Which was a nightmare btw, buy 2 weeks ago, says will be there end of week, not there end of next week, beginning of third week only fronts...
Good thing is they went on easy.
The only thing I don't like is the need for it to tell me its tracking me if I use the FordConnect functionality.
I got it the last 30 times you displayed it on the screen, stop telling me.
It could be down to the mode and if the Transfercase is in 4L or 4H.
I really only noticed any Traction control noises in 4L when on trails. It definitely has BLS because when you put the FX4 in the trail cruise control mode you can hear individual brakes clicking on and off to stop wheel spin.
So question for those of you who bought these, does the dual power function of the lights work when on auto?
At least on my truck it seems like for DRL's it runs the low beams at like half power, then puts them up to full power as soon as it detects night.
I want to do the Morimoto HID...
What 'Cons' are you guys even finding for running one besides having to empty it every oil change?
Oil reduces octane so if anything not having oil mist going into intake is good overall, even if its not really a problem in the first place.
I think I'm eventually going to get a nice one from...
I had shrockworks on my Samurai but I'd want to see their design files before I was interested in a set for the Ranger.
I REALLY Liked the RRW design and I'm disappointed they wont be making them outside of a group buy.
I wasn't saying I didn't believe in coatings, I just don't believe in the meguires coating.
I already put a ceramic coat on my Truck after De-ironing and De-greasing it. Clay baring was unnecessary in my case and was only going to do more harm then help, after a good double bucket wash mine...
I'd be interested in if someone can make one that goes fully across the top of the truck and has some sort of cab mounting so you could put Tent, Lights, Solar, etc all on top of the truck.
If someone does go ahead and try one of the Retrofit kits you should let us know if you have to cut out material in the housing or not. Would be nice if the hole in back of housing is big enough for the typical clamp on conversion.
