Tested adaptive cruise control today and when the vehicle in front of me slowed to a stop, the Ranger brakes came on automatically and so did the trailer brakes via the Echo. Worked beautifully. Tested this a few times. Auto emergency braking should work exactly the same I think.
RedArc...
Tested adaptive cruise with the Curt Echo and happy to report that when the vehicle in front of me slowed down to stop, causing my Ranger to automatically brake, the Echo activated the trailer brakes as well. Automatic emergency braking should therefore work, too.
Sidenote - I love how the...
Me too! That trailer is actually the reason I bought my Ranger.
I had a '16 KIA Sorento SX with 3500 lbs towing capacity and 350 lbs max tongue weight. I expected the trailer to be around 3050 lbs (2945 lbs on the website + I was told about 100 lbs extra for fiberglass exterior). I was okay...
I don't have a good way to test AEB but I am confident that testing ACC will confirm AEB compatibility as well since they both function by similar signal and without brake pedal input from what I've read.
As my other post says I bought an Echo (in August) for use with another vehicle and now that I've taken possession of my Ranger I've found it works just fine. I have a Lariat 501A. Maybe my Echo has newer firmware or is a newer hardware revision. The manual suggests turning on Tow/haul mode in...
For those who installed the non-Ford RedArc and want to add support for AEB / ACC, I noticed they have a kit for the Ranger: https://www.redarc.com.au/tow-pro-wiring-kits
Looks like it requires running a wire from inside the vehicle all the way back to the 7-way though. Also very expensive...
Alright, so I read all 29 pages here.. lol
I have a 2019 Lariat and a Curt Echo and it seems to just work for me. Maybe it's got newer firmware or a newer hardware revision. Just bought it in early August.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Curt Echo does actually activate with AEB and ACC as it...
That's disappointing. I've read that the Ford option works with adaptive cruise as well and was really hoping it was reading that from the vehicle rather than just motion.
EDIT: After more reading it sounds like the Lumen ECM either reads the brake signal from CANBUS or from another type of...
Hey guys, I'm looking at TBC options and trying to get a full picture of my options.. it sounds like the Ford option reads braking proportions from the ECM directly, rather than using accelerometers to sense motion? Can anyone confirm that?
Are there other options that would do it that way as...
I've noticed that while in Drive you can press the minus button on the shift once to show the gear lockout list without actually locking anything out (takes 2+ presses to start locking them out).
Still would rather see this elsewhere like you're suggesting, but I wanted to mention it.
I like 'now' more than any of the new ones tbh. Maybe if the 'now' went all the way to the wheel it would look even better. The new ones look too big and bold for the size of the truck. I feel like the smaller one is more classy and timeless.
Can we get the first post updated with the latest info, or maybe there's another thread with it in the first post?
I started reading through this thread but after many pages I ran out of time and was losing track of things already (I have a crap memory and wasn't taking notes).
Would love to...
She definitely made a mistake but imo no one should be serving coffee when it's still that hot. Yea many places still do, and there are still lawsuits made over it, but they'd rather fight them then adjust. I don't get it. When I get coffee I have to cool it with cream or wait 20 minutes before...
Hate to be the Debbie Downer again but the McDonald's coffee lady had a jury rule in her favor and holy hell did she deserve it - the coffee was way too hot and spilled all over her crotch, causing massive burns that sent her to the hospital. The photos are horrifying. There's a documentary...
My issue with the rims is that they don't really match the truck imo. I like the base rims I've seen which are painted magnetic with some shape to them, rather than this flat machined aluminum look.
For example, I'd love these:
I think they are usually only on the FX4 although my 2019 Lariat came with the '18" Wheels with magnetic pockets' and has the Hankooks on them:
They seem decent. Once up to speed they're quiet and smooth. Little but of rumble when going slowly on pavement.
Not a big fan of the rim styling...
