I know this has probably been answered already but there are just so many pages (maybe the first post could be updated to sum it all up?).
If you manually update to 3.4 will you continue to get automatic updates from Ford or does it cut you off?
Are there any issues that can't be corrected...
Yes. It's not actually that integrated or anything, but Ford's RedArc kit has extra parts to properly monitor the brake light instead of the brake pedal to detect braking, order to maintain compatibility with automatic braking systems.
Weight distribution hitches fit into the 2" receiver that comes with the tow package. The difference is that they consist of more than just a ball for the trailer to connect to. Instead they also have some lower arms that connect to the trailer, usually with chains. The idea is that the trailer...
We recently bought a Jayco Jay Flight SLX 174BH which is approx 3000 lbs and 17' long (or 21.5' tongue to bumper, I think). There are many different floor plans available in and around that weight and length, from many brands. We went with Jayco as we have no particular brand loyalty and it was...
I started to notice this noise today and it's just like in the video of the area below the steering wheel. Happens in park. If you rev up very slowly it cuts in and out/stutters. Thought for sure it was a secondary internal vibration caused by the more consistent and obvious ticking.
Hoping...
Thanks everyone. I ordered the Eibachs last night. Still curious what the Fox 2.0 difference would be if they were only on the rear, but the Eibachs seem like what I need for less money.
I kind of like the bouncy truck feel and don't want it to become firm. I just want it to bounce and float around less. Do you think I would be turned off by the firmness?
Hi guys,
I'm finding that the rear end is a bit too bouncy/floaty for my liking in some areas that I plan to travel often. I don't off-road and I do tow a 3200 lbs travel trailer when I can. It's both with and without trailer that I'm finding it bouncy, so I'm hoping that aftermarket shocks in...
100% agree. My Ranger purchase was also somewhat impulsive. I usually check out all my options and compare things to death. But in this case I was really only interested in the Ranger and nothing else was going to get my attention. I only had my previous vehicle for 6 months and I was only...
That's a very interesting point. I'm a software developer and after looking at the pinout it makes sense to me that they're using software to determine when the brakes are on vs just signals.
If I had to guess how the software works, it would be something like this...
- If both tail lights...
I like ProClip but really not into that position for this vehicle.. tugging on and covering part of the tray doesn't seem nearly as OEM-like as some of their others. The DirectFit mount installs in an impressive OEM-like position and manner. Now if it only it wasn't a ball mount. I am too picky...
Just a heads-up to Canadians hoping to remote start their Fords using Google Assistant / Google Home. It's a USA-only feature at this time. It's frustrating as it simply needs to be enabled on their end and then we could enjoy it in Canada. They are probably obligated to add French support...
Today I ran the USB-C cable from the upper tray down to the my adapter in the hidden 12V socket:
I fished my automotive-felt-covered USB-C cable into the dash from the upper left area. The connector of my charging coil is actually at the lower left, but the route is better from the upper...
This. There's a toggle on the main screen of the app that you can use to tell it that you're using hazards and it wont brake for you based on the brake light signal - only the manual override.
Yes and yes, both work without any issues. More detail about them here: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/wireless-brake-controller.3196/post-166605
Alright I forgot to take pics while pulling panels in the vehicle.. but here's my wireless charger installs (2 chargers, one in the expected spot and one up top above the screen). I didn't order triple-coil chargers (yet) so I'm just using single coil chargers for now.
The coil after prying...
It could potentially work if the hardware is up to snuff and Ford wanted to do it. I think it may require 5Ghz WiFi and not 2.4Ghz, though.
Someone on XDA Developers has been working on a solution for non-wireless vehicles. They just got it onto indiegogo the other day. Eagerly awaiting this...
Jut chiming in (I know this is an old thread) to say that I have an Echo I bought in Aug and it works wonderfully. I wonder if they updated the firmware or if there's a newer hardware revision now.
It even works with adaptive cruise (activating trailer brakes when acc activates the truck...
Just to confirm some things about the Echo in regards to some of the pairing/bluetooth issues that some people seem to have.. you absolutely do need a trailer plugged into the Echo in order for the truck to power the Echo.
I went out to my truck just now and plugged in the Echo by itself. Tow...
