Also, if you do exclusively city stop-and-go driving (like Uber or Lyft style driving) then 17-18 would be normal. At least from what I’ve experienced.
My Tremor is consistently getting 24-25mpg unless I go off-road. City mileage brings it down a little, highway brings that number up a bit. 90% country roads where the speed limit is 45-55mph with some stop signs in between.
I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. Maybe he forgot?
But some other things don’t add up, like the bystanders being able to stop the truck easily, looked like it was in Neutral.
If it were truly in Neutral, after a brake failure, then I would guess some sort of...
Has anyone here confirmed that the Nav upgrade (replacement APIM) from 4DTech will have zero impact on other functions in the truck, such as FordPass, climate controls, etc.?
Had too many aftermarket devices cause problems over the years so am approaching this one with some caution.
Aside from the obvious lack of driver’s ed (or maybe the kid wasn’t paying attention, as they should cover how to stop a runaway vehicle) I smell a case for subrogation here.
I know the Guess-O-Meters for MPG and range can be off on some vehicles, but is any of yours nearly as bad as what I’m getting for an estimate?
I’ll fill up and have 475-498 miles displayed on the range meter, but only get 450 or so miles before the needle is pegged on “E” and the truck is...
Does anybody have experience with something like these on their ranger?

I have factory sport pedal covers on everything else I own, but most sports cars come with these as an option. I'm probably going to drill into...
Yes, I think after reading through the replies the guy with the race team makes the most sense. Check at 5,000 and then see what the lab says. Once I'm there I'll be able to report whether or not the truck can truly go that long on the Ford Motorcraft oil. As mentioned earlier, Blackstone has...
If it is recommended for a $250k-$1M dozer, surely should be accurate for a $40k Ranger:

I'm inclined to believe these things are true and what benefit would a 3rd party have to lie about your sample. Just opens...
I think it changes from manufacturer to manufacturer. Subaru and Ford seem to have a "heavy tip-in" which appeals to some people. The OP had a Malibu, which has a very linear throttle, and similar vehicles to that throttle tip-in would be the Acadia, Tacoma, Silverado, Camry, etc. while...
I appreciate the informative post. Think I will switch to synthetic once the dealer's free oil changes are over, and sample regularly. Blackstone says I can practically double my OCI on other vehicles I've owned but the OLM on them hard limits at 7.5k, so to keep warranty, guess the OLM is...
I have the same issue on my '22 and was told by the dealership "they all have a sensitive throttle". This truck has the most touchy, binary throttle feel of any vehicle I've ever driven, and I'm told this is 100% normal. Some say they have never had this issue - do you typically drive all...
See first post, my 5,200+ mile run resulted in a higher TBN than a 1,500 or 3,700 mile run (presumbly due to more highway miles that are boiling the acids out of the oil). But that's a guess, I'm not an oil expert, and am wondering if highway miles will bring "life" back to old oil by getting...
I use Blackstone, see original post. Only have a few hundred miles on the Ranger so haven't taken a sample yet, but why is it that the reports seem to get "better" the longer you drive on the oil? I know the Ford and GM motors are different, but my 1,500 and 3,700 mile runs on the GMC depleted...
Oddly enough my reports on the 6.2L seem to look "better" when there is some more mileage on the oil. Not sure if that's due to not driving it enough, but the TBN with full synthetic magically seems to increase after a longer run...
I'm expecting the Ford 2.3L to be harder on the oil, since...
Appreciate it. Snow/Grass/Gravel is exactly what I was looking for, and has the right amount of throttle tip-in to be similar to other trucks.
For those who are saying I need to learn throttle control, go and test drive anything from Ford back to back with another manufacturer. The day I test...
Still getting used to my new Ranger and the dealer told me the oil change interval is "up to 10,000 miles" for the 2.3L EcoBoost engine on Ford Synthetic Blend oil. My previous GMC 6.2L called for a 7,500 mile oil change interval and according to the Blackstone lab reports I've done on it, with...
Thank you. Coming from a GMC 6.2L and a very linear throttle, this one seems like the throttle on Hyundais/Subarus where they are "marketed" to give more initial tip-in than actual position to sell more cars on the lot.
I briefly tried the Terrain Modes last night and Grass/Gravel/Snow gives...
