Here's what looks like the best immediate solution:

I'm going to try that first.
Web searches tell me the trim is painted stainless steel, so in my mind the ultimate solution would be to have them stripped and anodized...
I'm more of 'form-over-function' guy so what it looks like is secondary (unless it's really stupid looking). I put one on my 5g Super Crew specifically to cut the buffeting from my bed-mounted cargo carrier. It works very well for that, but I did have more wind noise in the cab from it until I...
Sounds like a mechanical issue inside the door. Perhaps the cable mechanism has come apart (#11), or the door lock rod has become disconnected (#10).

I don't think it does. Just know that if your Fitzstick reads right at 3.5 when hot, you're probably about a quart over; if it reads 5.5, you're probably about a quart low.
I often overthink things, but a main component of my previous life was failure analysis. Gathering as much background as...
Food for thought:
The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of ULV is very low, approx 0.0008/C°. If you start with 65°F(18.3°C) fluid, then warm the trans up to 215°F (101.7°C), the formula is as follows: [CTE x volume x delta T° = delta volume]
0.0008 x 7.2qts x (101.7°C - 18.3°C) =...
Wolfbox also makes a dash mount that might work out better for you. Here's a couple of sources:

That reminded me of my sailing days. I used to crew on a couple of mid-sized (30ft) boats and summer regattas on the SF Bay were generally a low-energy affair (I assume they still are), with little wind and LOTS of drinking. After a day on the Bay, lazily cruising through checkpoints, all the...
I haven't found any specific information regarding ULV thermal expansion, but this was gleaned from Bobistheoilguy
"Coefficient of thermal expansion for oils and transmission fluids is around 0.0007 per degree C (0.07%/C). So, if you've got 12 liters in the pan, it will expand 0.0084 L per...
Changed my transmission fluid. Was only able to pump 5½ qts out, but I was parked on a slope. I did add 5½oz of Lube Guard Platinum as well. Next time I'll do on level ground. That little oil pump does a good job. It's a bit noisy, but it's a clean process! Another big thanks to the 5g community...
Don't forget, the Wolfbox has a remote mounted rear facing camera. I mounted one on top of my bed mounted carrier because the carrier completely blocks the rear window. When I'm not using the carrier, I switch over to the camera mounted in front of my third brake light.
I recomend NOT doing what I did. I was trying to save a couple bucks and that #33 mount is just not satisfactory. It requires cutting-up the plastic the trim piece above the mirror, and it just doesn't sit right.
You're better off doing what mokupilot did, and that's what I'm going to do...
Thank you! THAT is priceless info! Now I just have to let the truck sit for 3 days (that's harder than it sounds)
I am so appreciative of the invaluable, real world experiences that are shared in this forum. ?
