Never had the check 4x4 pop up but to AZs point, I had blind spot monitor failure notifications pop up one morning. Turned the trunk off, back on and it was still there, but then 10 minutes into my drive they just went away and I've never had an issue since
These things do tend to happen... weirdly
I heard on the radio couple days ago that Ford is pivoting from lightning production to a midsize phev for the US, don't know why it wouldn't be ranger but 🤷🏻♂️
Pinion bearings went bad, took it to a great local drive line shop and they said it's been pretty common on these D44s. He strongly recommended changing fluid every other oil change. I drive majority highway miles and apparently the rear end doesn't have a chance to cool down in those conditions.
Honestly, that's really good!
2021 here, 134k. Rebuilt trans, then replaced trans (warranty), new HVAC box, rebuilt rear end.
Just checked my original brake pads, and they're only halfway through!

TLDR, pinion bearings died, new rear end guts and 15k fluid change intervals
Glad the new ones are working out for you!
120k here, looks like about half the meat left front and rear. I drive almost exclusively highway unless I'm wheeling
If you end up wanting 1" faction fan spacers, I'll make you the killer-est deal on these

I also have mine on a front runner slimline rack with non-cutout faring. I recently mounted it below the front crossbar and behind the faring. I use it so rarely that it's easy to remove the faring of I'm out wheeling at night. Now it's only the noise of the roof rack which is plenty quiet for...
