try washing the sensor area of windshield with Dawn Dish soap. It strips wax and grease off the window. It might help. I have had a bunch of cars with rain sensing. I have never liked the way any of them worked. They always seems to swipe too much.

Were you parked on ice? If your "park" position worked correctly the drive shaft will not turn. But if one wheel is on ice and one is not the the ice wheel will turn backwards (slipping on the ice) and the truck would move forward. Just a grasping at straws hope for you. ;)
