I don't see anything in that picture that would affect the life of the truck. I personally put several new vehicles on jack stands and crawled under it to spray clear on some exposed metal parts for appearance only and to satisfy my anal self. This is not something that is unique to only Ford...
I only recall one vehicle brought in with an issue related to oil change interval. A lady brought her Edge (with 33k on it)in on a wrecker with a knocking sound in the motor. Nothing showing on the dipstick and using a bore scope, it looked like black jello inside. Dropped the pan and the crank...
Mines at 2years and 25k miles so decided a little detail was in order. washed, clay bared, a little minor buffing and a paint sealant. As far as paint chips, it had 3 chips large enough to be touched up, all picked up in 1st couple thousand miles. Who knows, maybe the paint got harder as it cured.
It's algorithm can take some of that into account. You have an FX4 and I assume some offroad. It has no way of knowing that you are on a dusty offroad trail or driving thru a mall parking lot. I don't believe any of us here are stretching it too far.
You're speaking dealer level vs corporate. Frankly thats not their main consideration. Corporate marketing is concerned with convincing you that ALL you will have to do is an occasional oil change for 100k miles and cost of maint is Very low. Engineering also provides a severe service...
Just a post to show reality vs the 17k electric bills the news media was widely reporting. This is on 2800 sq ft, 2 story, all electric with 2 heat pumps.....
On 2wd, crawl under it with a pan and a 15mm wrench. Remove the plug and oil drains straight down without removing anything, let drain and replace plug. Turn steering wheel all the way to the right and remove rear half of plastic retainers on flap on inner fender. Fold flap forward and tuck...
I had mixed emotions about responding to this but....I owned a large auto parts store for 27 years and sold hundreds of thousands of filters and never had one alleged engine failure due to the filter. I did get involved (at a dealers request)in 1 claim against the brand (My guess) that the OP...
Two years ago today, I picked up my HPR Scab. I special ordered it about 30 minutes after the order bank opened as I have done on several new models. Supposedly was the 1st Scab delivered in Tx. and was the 1st one received (Vin seq 3840) by a member on here. As of today, only issue was battery...
