I searched and there are a few threads on dropping the head liner for various things - I broke the damn antenna off the top of the truck (I was tired, the garage door wasnt opened all the way... you can guess the next bit)... I have a replacement in hand, but I need to get into the head liner...
I checked the drivers side and it’s fine for now. Just drove 3 hours back to Denver with a truck full of family and gear and the weld held up great! Even hitting a pothole unexpectedly!
Well! I did it! Tons of grinding to open up and clean the crack, and 10+ beads of ER70S-6 and cleaned it up. Drove for a dozen miles tonight and it’s holding.
I am also ordering a set of Tremor springs and Ubolts since the price of both is around what a single OEM 2019 spring costs from the local dealer... by they wont be in for close to 2 weeks.
Hey Everyone... so the last month I heard a clunk when going over driveway aprons and such. Today I put the truck on a lift in my cabin garage and found the passenger leaf spring is broken. I cant get a replacement for a week here but I do need to drive back to Denver in a few days with...
Well, I used my ranger to pick up a ton of gear to re-do the kitchen in our place, and a quick stop at Harbor Freight for some gear for my metal shop I am setting up…
and… then got rear ended immediately leaving Harbor Freight while at a red light…. Haha.
Not terrible bad damage, car is...
Installed the front Eibach Pro-Truck 2 shocks today. A tool I was going to use for alignment didn't work so I just installed them at stock ride height (I'll level it a bit when I get some proper AT wheel/rims next spring. First side took 2 hours, the 2nd took under 40 minutes. Took me a...
After putting on 15K on our ranger in 9 months, I got tired of the suspension. So Eibach Stage 2Rs are going on. Rears done tonight in a few min, Fronts will go on with a 1.5" lift or so next week when I get the tools I wanted to do the alignment.
Already riding around with just the rears...
So with the extended dipstick... can you use that to suck out the fluid from the trans to do a drain/fill? Like feeding a hose down it? I know you can add fluid through it, but was curious about the other direction
I did a few things! Installed the Aeroskin bug deflector thingy. (Its covering up a bit of a dent from hitting a turkey at 70mph the other week)
I also drained and filled Front and Rear Differentials and the transfer case. (22K miles)
The Rear diff was filthy, and the magnet had some fun big...
Hmm this is all pretty wild and pretty simple. Clearly they need some flex to avoid the shock fatigue of the fan engaging, but in the words of 90's informercials - there has to be a better way!
I am curious if some careful 3D design with a high tensile/durable and high temp TPU would help...
So, I picked up one of those cheap $275-350 Ebay LED brake replacements... and besides for it lacking the "ranger" emboss on the inside of the metallic part inside the lens, it is a perfect fit and replacement! I may grab another just to have the other side match lacking the little "ranger"...
backed the f'r into the edge of my garage, cracked the rear drivers tail light... (thats the only damage)... the backup sensors never made a nose and the camera didnt see the edge of the wood coming at the very edge of the bed./bumper.
FML... just ordered a $350 ebay special if it works it...
haha took me a second to realize the Africa reference :) I have a world map keyboard/mouse pad that I do use now and then to plan up some trips from time to time :)
Found the lil bast'rd. It was right by the debris exit on the bottom of the brake shield but just wouldn't fall out on its own. Cut a nice groove into the back of the disk that I could feel with my gloves.
