Hereās my setupā¦xtrusion xtr1 with Yakima Fatcat 6 Evo ski racks. Hard fold Gator tonneau. Havenāt fully tested it all outā¦need snow to do that :)
The tonneau doesnāt open very muchā¦but in fact I donāt want it to. The idea is to raise up the back third and hook it open. Then slide in/out a bin...
Almost every fill up for me is an adventure. The gas shuts off too soon, or the nozzle slips out (then shuts off). Have to slow feed the gas; fingers often end up smelling of gas. Havenāt filled out of state yet for comparison.
Wellā¦I ran this procedure yesterdayā¦honestly not convinced it amounted to a big deal of a change, but perhaps I need a bit more driving (and braking) to get a better feel for it.
That said, easy to do and, yes, when it first starts up the noise will make you jump :)
I just ordered a Xtrusion Overland bed rack. I decided that Iām going to modify the brackets (cut off the vertical section that would normally be used for clamps), and then drill some holes through the brackets and the bed rail/cap and bolt it on. On the plus side itāll be very securely...
Thanks - I am curious about that console switch. I took at a look at the part via your link, but canāt exactly tell where it goes (where is the blank likely to be)? Is it in the steering wheel, or is it near the shifter where the autostop/start button is, or somewhere else?
I too experience something like this, but I hadnāt got as far as determining if it was particular to 4th to 3rd. But definitely a thing that I observe. And I share your concernā¦most of the time that i use engine-braking is coming down the west side of the Sierra in the snow.
Thanks - thatās a thread I couldnāt find.
To add more colorā¦the tires I have on my truck right now donāt have TPMS (but donāt worry, I have a pump and a good old fashioned pressure gauge) so the truck wonāt relearn anything from those wheels. I am just trying to not have the FordPass app bounce...
I dare say this has been answered, but my searching skills are coming up shortā¦
I have spare wheels in my garage with TPMS, and the tire pressure for those wheels is being reported. Is there a way for my vehicles TPMS to forget or āunlearnā those sensors?
No big issues with the wheel size change, but potential for issues with tire size change. I changed the other way from 17ā to 18ā, both with factory tires. In this case my speedometer may end up being off by 1 or 2 mph, but nothing substantive.
Tire size change is a whole different deal and...
Looks like a great rack. Are those the wider tonneau-compatible mount brackets? Do you think it would work to cut off the vertical section of that mounting bracket (that goes down and under the tonneau rail) and then drill and bolt the remaining flat section of the mounting bracket to the Ranger...
I just sold an Outback to Vroom. Good price, easy process, no hassles. They listed it 2 days later with a 10% markup over what they gave me. Iām good with that.
Thanks for the thread link.
Yep, concerned about grime and salt getting under them, particularly given the abuse theyāll get on winter trips. I may go for the non-slip gorilla tape option discussed in another thread.
Iāve been trawling through the Ford accessories catalog for ways to spend my FordPass points.
These door sill protectors caught my attention, part number, VKB3Z-1613208-A.

Iām guessing these may be stock on a Lariat? Anyone installed...
I just opted for these:

ā¦hopefully theyāre the correct size and style.
