I might be in a similar situation. Dealer did transmission rebuild at 59K. Now at 70K the gremlins are starting to come back. Fortunately, I have an extended warranty. If they want to rebuild it again I will insist on the new transmission.
I love the Ranger! I'm 6'5" and it's tough to find a vehicle I fit in that isn't the size of a school bus.
I do not like the Ranger 6g redesign. The hood appears longer and flatter with less visibility. Perhaps they are trying to be more Tacoma like!
For maintenance, I've just done oil...
I've never used a code scanner before but would like to hook one up and get familiar with it prior to and issues with my Ranger.
I'm not the sort of person that plans on modifying the OEM parameters.
Curious, what scan tool allows all (of most) of the diagnostics and resets a dealer can...
Okay so dealer resurfaced rotors and did new pads for under $300. Local tire store wanted $400 to do the same work and weren't confident they could properly resurface the rotors. I think because the tire store doesn't have the right tool. Chalk this up as a win for the dealer!
It looks like I need new brake pads on the rears.
What is the recommended procedure for doing this?
1) Replace the Pads?
2) Resurface rotors and replace pads?
3) Replace the rotors and the pads?
Thanks,
John
Took my truck in today after waiting a month for an appointment. My problems were slipped felt not engaged sometimes between 2-5. Hard downshifts when approaching a stop. Plus on one occasion I stopped at a stop sign and it was still in 7th gear. Had to put it in sport mode to get it to...
Curious if anyone has found a good dealer or mechanic for working on 2019 Ranger in the Nor Cal/Reno area. In particular, skilled at the transmission troubleshooting and repair.
I find it interesting that your Rear Left tow is .33 and Rear Right to is .04. My truck rides fine but tires seem to wear more on the sides. How much does Rear Tow matter. Mine is Left .31 and Right -.01. I wonder if it is a manufacturing thing since ours are so close?
If I get in my Ranger turn the key and start driving it bucks some in the first mile. Not sure if its the transmission or the engine. However, if I remote start it, by the time I get in it it's ready to go. Smooth going! Is this a problem? All the Ford maintenance center (dealers) around me...
I have a Smitty bilt. Have yet to camp in it. I will probably be pulling it off the truck for a couple of weeks because we will be getting a few weeks straight of rain up in Northern California.
My normal gas mileage was 22.5. With the bottom of the RTT just below the roof top my mileage...
I just stumbled across the ratings for the Hankook DynaPro ATMs. I'm surprised they did so well in testing. Handling - Good, Noise - Good, Hydroplaning - Very Good, Snow Traction - Very Good, Ride Comfort - Fair, Rolling Resistance - Very Good. They were rated towards the top of all All...
I'm actually in Grass Valley now, but I still spend a lot of time up in Tahoe. Blizzaks are not rated well on dry and wet roads. The Cross Climate is rated high in all categories across the board. I will mostly encounter ice and light snow, but also want good control and braking on wet and...
Curious if anyone has tried the Michelin Cross Climate tires on their Ranger? These tires seems to be rated very high across the spectrum. Decent Ice/Snow rating is what got my attention.
Oh well, sorry they screwed it up. Now when I hide the brakes I get mood lighting in the cab. Light is coming from up under the headliner inside the cab.
Dealer installed my brake controller and I just notice at night when I'm backing up I get a yellow glow under the headliner from the brake light! Thoughts please?
