Yeah it’s a design I can’t quite understand. Couldn’t the dash be modular in some way to allow access? Perhaps they’re worried about rattles.
it’s not just ford tho. Lots of brands have crazy dash pull requirements for climate control stuff.
I think he’s talking about the actuator only. Someone on another thread recently tried this and the replaced actuator only lasted like 6 months. So probably the box, as you noted, should’ve been replaced as well.
Actuator only replacement sounds like it can be done without pulling the dash out...
Exact same symptoms as my 2019.
Repair was 11 hours due to full dash removal, and with parts and labor it ran up to $3,600.
I called the Ford corporate customer service line, told em the price I got quoted, admitted I was out of warranty but felt this was such a common issue that I should...
My 2019 had the box/blend gate/actuator all replaced and the repair was nearly $4k. If that $300 fix had worked long term then that’d have been a steal. Bummer it didn’t work out.
im just going off of what MountainGoat said. That his Android Auto was yelling at him. It’s possible the app is what needs updated isn’t it? Not the head unit.
My truck reverted to an older sync version out of no where (I’m wondering if it was a failed automatic update). The whole system went to a buggy factory software version and just went absolutely nuts. I had to manually update with a thumb drive. The update worked, but it failed to spit out the...
I'm at nearly 61k miles with my 2019 (bought it used at 22k miles in 2020), and just today i was thinking about how much i like the steering wheel set up. with one hand i can work all of the cruise control related buttons and manage the lane keep feature. they're also all in such close proximity...
Holy crap…. I seriously thought mine was caused by like a rock or even bit of hail (I’m parked outside) so I never thought check the TSB/Issues section… hell , I didn’t even search for it as I thought I was a one off and this was just a paint maintenance. Sorry for the duplicative thread!
No...
Well… I think you’d call it the roof trim… whatever the case, here’s a pic:
what are my solutions for correcting this? Run some sandpaper on it to clear the flaking, tape off the area, and then hit it with some rustoleum? It’s the roof so I’m not ultra concerned about the appearance. I just...
My blend door got stuck and things got weird. My passenger side had heat and my driver slider did not (this was January in ohio). I remember hearing the blower motor running but it just wasn’t blasting heat like it should have.
as mentioned, it’s semi common. Common enough that I was out of...
Local marinas near me carry ethanol free premium fuel for boats. Maybe that’s the case for you as well?
I also check https://www.pure-gas.org/ for stations. You can try and hunt for higher level gas there, but the database isn’t always accurate. Sometimes ya gotta call and check. Also, I hate...
seconding this one. i used an old USB cable to connect my iphone and it is ever so slightly damaged on one of the contact pads for the lightning connection. this side must ALWAYS be facing down (away from the screen) or the ranger's carplay ability won't see it. it is hands down the most...
Oooh yeah that’s a spicy momma of a bike. If I really get into trails and dual sporting, that’s one I’d strongly consider. $8k is a lovely price for it too. I think they’re like $12k new. I think the maintenance intervals on it are kinda poopy tho.
If I end up liking more BDR work, I’m gonna...
It’s kind of an odd thing because the CRF300L having a weak clutch it’s one of its perceived cons. Or so says the media and thus many of the forum analysts lol.
Itchy Boots rode from the southern tip of South America to Alaska, and then got well into her trip through Africa before that clutch...
Yep it’s a tough call. The DRZ has power and speed, but only a 5 speed transmission. So you gear it for the trail or the highway. Not both. The 300s are not fast, but they’re geared so well with their 6 speed transmission. The main alternatives are Husqvarna and KTM that cost twice as much.
I...
yep, me as well. Actually for me what rusted wasn’t the ball mount, it was the stupid security pin. Had to use a rod to bend the pin until it was busted up enough that I could knock it the rest of the way off with a hammer. That was an annoying 10 minutes!
hmm, new 300s are VERY similar. just like 1 or 2 horsepower down, but up on the torque a bit. same weight and seat height.
i really was interested in the DRZ400, but for trail riding that 37 inch seat height is killer. it wears its weight up high so it wants to tip easily. fine if you're well...
Alright dual sporters, so I been rolling around with a Yamaha XT250 I bought for my wife. She didn’t ride it so I did because I didn’t wanna leave the poor thing in the garage gathering dust.
My wife finally threw in the towel and told me to sell it and get something for myself. I already have...
