I find nothing compelling with CarPlay or Android Auto. My wife uses CarPlay in her Jeep only because it didn't come with factory Nav. I have factory Nav in my Ranger and only used Android Auto to know if it worked.
I really don't care if GM stops support for either but charging a subscription...
Well the 2" fluctuation can be upwards of a gallon or more if the pump kicks-off before the level reach's the filler neck. I typically find I can put in almost a gallon more after the first kick-off and the second kick-off (my 68 Barracuda will take two more gallons after the first kick-off). It...
FWIW, in my 50+ years of vehicle ownership and ~1 million accumulated miles I have never had and internal engine failure. I typically keep a vehicle 7 to 10 years and generally put 150k to 300+k miles on them before moving on.
Prior to oil life monitors I would change my oil on 5k intervals...
No they won't. They will hand you a phone number to Fords Customer Service and tell you to take it up with them. Once Ford has denied the claim it is out of the dealers hands. It will be in the computer against your VIN so taking the vehicle to another dealer won't make a difference.
The only T6 with an automotive service rating is 0w-40 and it is SN not the latest SP. SN+ and SP have been formulated to minimize the chances of Low Speed Pre Ignition (LSPI), just for that reason I would not use it in an Ecoboost engine.
If you are using T6 5w-40 you run the risk of a...
You guys have to realize the dealer DOES NOT make decisions on what is or is not covered under warranty, Ford does. Minor things it is a matter of course that these items are approved. But, for something major the dealer can't proceed without approval from Ford. Ford may approve if it is an...
It is not unheard of for a dealer to see a vehicle that is modified and just not want to work on it for liability reasons. This is not denying warranty it's just not wanting to get involved.
Per the law that is true but it is a whole lot easier for them to claim a mod caused a failure than for you to refute that claim. Even if you were to win in court it very likely will cost you more than what the actual repair would cost.
If you were to spend some time on the Ecoboost Mustang...
X Plan is not for Ford employees, they have there own plan, I believe it is A Plan, X plan is for Ford partners. Over the past 30 years all the companies I worked for were part of the Ford Partner program as well as the equivalents from GM and Stellantis.
The Ford Partner plan web site is still...
I wouldn't call it fear mongering, it's more of a case of setting realistic expectations. My son was a service manager at a CDJR dealership and he used to be amazed at the number of people that would come in with a Challenger/Charger with an after market supercharger & tune with a holed piston...
Yep, I have had some vehicles with shitty filter locations. The worst being my first truck a 73 Dodge pickup with a slant 6. Filter was easy to get to but it was mounted vertically upside down. As soon as you cracked it loose oil poured down the side of the block and onto the cross member. The...
I have a Tremor and I don't even have to turn the wheel to access the filter. It is a straight shot to the filter over the tire with a long extension and filter socket.
Some what off topic question: Where did the term "Topper" come from? I never heard it until I joined this forum.
Going back I to the 70s when I got my first pickup they were referred to as a "Cap" or sometimes "Camper Shell". Even manufacturers like Leer refer to them as a Cap. There are 8...
I have a filter socket and a long extension and just go straight in from the side, easy peasey. Taking the skid plate off to access the drain plug is more of a nuisance than the filter and it is easy too.
I don't recall ever pushing the button with the engine off or no trailer connected but it does light up BLUE briefly when pushed with or without the engine running and no trailer connected.
If you have a trailer connected the knob should light up BLUE or alternating BLUE/GREEN if the unit has not gone through it's self calibration yet. With the trailer connected and the brakes applied the knob should light up red, the brightness will be proportional to the intensity of the braking...
It certainly is each to there own but the single biggest advantage to the Ford system is it is the only one that currently integrates with the Rangers emergency braking system and that is an extremely compelling reason to go that way.
IMHO, preference for levers verse knobs verse wireless...
