It's gotten cold over the past week (in the 20s for a high) but the first tank of gas is netting me a little over 1 mpg more than I was getting with the Grabbers.
The General Grabber ATx tires that came on my Ranger were starting to get noisy. There was still plenty of tread left but decided new tires were in order to make the wife happy.
Going by Tire Rack designation I knew I wanted a Road/All-Terrain verse an Off-Road/All-Terrain like the Grabber ATx...
The AGM batteries in both our 21 Ranger and 21 Jeep are coming up on 5 years and are not showing any signs of giving up.
Not sure if it is a contributing factor or not but Auto Start/Stop has been disabled in both vehicles from about a month after buying them.
Couple of points to help in choosing a tire:
1. The original Grabber ATx tires are Load Range C which is a 6 ply rating not 10 ply, 10 ply would be a Load Range E.
2. Tire rack lists there all terrain tires as;
The Grabber ATx is considered an Off-Road All-Terrain. The MT AT tire is a Rugged...
Except when you have a 2.3 that goes to the track, there Ford recommends 5w-50 in the owners manual of the Mustang. They also recommend 5w-50 all the time in the 2.3 Ecoboost Mustang when you order the high performance package. They also recommend 5w-50 in place of 5w-20 in the 5.0 when tracked...
The phone apps allow you to download offline maps to prevent this issue. At least with Google it is automatic for the area you live in. You may need to update if you have traveled outside that region.
The fuel rail on the 2.3 ecoboost is running at over 1000 psi to accomodate the direct injection. The only place you could inject a cleaner is before the mechanical high pressure pump. Not sure is there is a place for that. I would just dump some cleaner in the gas tank.
If you are just looking to make your Tremor level a 1" lift (1/2" spacer) is what you need. I have verified that with a level on the rocker and on the frame under the cab.
All the photos of Tremors with 2" lifts I have seen are sitting nose high.
Its not hard to find the Motorcraft Mircon ULV fluid for about $12/qt or a 12qt kit for less than $10/qt.
I purchased a couple of qts at O'Reily's for $11.99 each a while back.
The issue I have is if the text message is RCS formatted Sync doesn't even notify me I have a text. It isn't until I take my phone out of my pocket the next time that I even know I got a text.
Overall I find Sync to be very reliable and trouble free, certainly not worth the trouble or time to replace the entire system to get compatibility with RCS formated texts messages.
FWIW, I consider texting to be a low priority means of communication so this minor issue of Sync not being...
I seldom use Android Auto, the thought of pulling my phone out of my pocket and plugging it in everytime I get in the car is less appealing than not knowing about a text until the next time I look at my phone. I suppose I will have to decide whether I get a wireless adapter or set my phone for...
I just realized that when I receive a RCS message I do not get a notification on Sync 3.4 in my Ranger. Is there a fix for this or do I have to revert my phone to SMS only?
It's not the fuel surrounding the pump that cools them, it is the fuel flowing through the pump. The wives tail that letting fuel level go below 1/4 will uncover the pump and causes it to fail seems to live on. Many fuel pumps are mounted just below the access flange, in those cases you would...
FWIW, Ford advertises the HP for the 2.3 in a Bronco with 87 and 93. If I recall correctly it is 285 and 315. Not sure why they don't for the Ranger other than marketing doesn't think the target market for the Ranger cares.
