I've got a 2021 XL trim Supercab...and mine just seem to come out. I agree...they hit the headliner when in the full up position...but I just "compress" them a little bit and there is enough room to pull them out. I do it quite often to clean rear window. Unless..... are XL trim seats slightly...
Can't really say about snow......I live in Louisiana and have never actually driven the truck in the snow. But...my truck is an XL trim....which has rubber floors instead of carpeting. The carpeting was optional...with two choices. Carpet with carpet mats, or carpet with those floor...
I just replaced two rear tires on mine.... 60K now... and was looking at the rear pads while it was on the lift...It's time !! Checked the fronts when I got home...they're fine. This is a mostly highway truck... my guess is the rear tires and brakes are due because I do a lot of trailer towing.
I heartily recommend some sort of floor liner protection. I don't deal with snow down here, but do a lot of camping/beach travel with an EXTREMELY messy hunting dog. It's so much easier to just dump them out and rinse them than shampooing carpet every time I take him somewhere. Ranger floors...
10-4 on that one !!! It was a pain in the ass tearing up all the garnish moldings...undoing and semi-dropping the headliner... and then dealing with those stupid "connectors" that came with the kit, which fell apart almost immediately, and I had to hard wire everything together instead...
That's right... I have the Ford Brake Controller kit that is/was available from Ford in the Accessory catalog. I am hearing it is no longer available from them ??? It was really the way to go, as it had not just the Redarc controller..but all the wiring and modules to hook into the existing...
I highly recommend the Redarc controller. I got it from Ford, but it seems they have discontinued it as an accessory. The performance of it is excellent, as it is adjustable for amount of braking applied with the control switch. When I purchased my camper, they tried to sell me a bluetooth...
Is this sort of thing STILL going on with Rangers ?? My story... it's the middle of the "chip" shortage in January of 2021. and my old Sonoma truck was wrecked. I have other cars to drive but still needed a pickup for "truck things". Didn't care for the "Star Wars" styling of the GM products...
A friend of mine when I lived in New England used the AutoTrain often. He went to Ft. Lauderdale every January and he usually stayed for a month or so.. and wanted his car down there. He had a Firebird convertible which rode terribly and gave his back fits.... not a good road trip car, I guess...
Congratulations on your fourth year!!. I'm on 3 yrs. and 2 months and the only problem I have had is the battery. 60K now, and plenty of road trips/trailer towing. Just got back from a 6K trip to Colorado and truck ran perfectly....plus the longer bed holds more firewood !!
I installed the Redarc brake controller myself and also thought the wires in the harness were a little short/hard to get to. One thing I might suggest.....as I found it made a BIG difference in general accessibility for doing all this wiring and securing of the modules is to remove the drivers...
I used the Ford Accessory/Red Arc controller too and my connectors at the Third Brake Light wouldn't go together either. While I was trying... they just broke apart in my hand. Luckily.....I wrote down the TBL wiring colors before I started this, and ended up hard wiring everything together and...
That's a good point about removing the filter first. I 've always done it the other way around, but it does have that drainback valve in it, so some oil may well be remaining in the engine. But 6.2 approx. is usually what I put back in. That gets it to the top of the crosshatch usually.
Mine is difficult to read also...so I just let it sit overnight after adding 6 qts... run it to check for leaks.. then top it off in the morning. It is much easier to read then. The manual seems a little vague to me as to just what the "full" reading is. Is it the top of the crosshatch area...
