Went to the Houston Ranger Drive (or whatever it's called) today -- it was a beautiful day, and I was surprised there were not more people...
I drove a Lariat FX4 (all of them were 4x4 and crew cabs) that had every option available; the Ford rep was very knowledgeable about the truck and she...
I had the same experience as mjbrow -- I had checked some box on the Ford website (don't remember when) and the nearest Ford dealership called/contacted me about buying an F-150.....
I'm guessing here, but I think a 4x4 XLT SuperCrew (Group 301A + Trailer Tow + Locking Rear) will be over $6,000 cheaper than the Jeep Gladiator Sport S Trim (automatic with hard top)
Just Like Desert_5G stated, the Tacoma driver's seat (for me at 5'10") was way too low to the floorboard, and I could never get comfortable (really) in the short test drive from last summer...
WXman is a bad@$$ since his 2011 Jeep Wrangler JKU averages 19 -- my 2011 JK Sport 6 speed drinks gas and oil like a drunk sailor...Granted, all my driving (6,500 miles per year) is in town, but I would kill for even 17 mpg
I need new Jeep tires, but I'm cautious since I'll be trading her in for the Ranger...but, if someone is telling me next summer until my delivery of a 4x2 SuperCrew XLT then I may have to suck it up and buy the tires now
BAR -- I feel for you at 6'5"...I'm only 5'10", and I always "test" the rear seat legroom as well as egress in/out of the rear door. My wife's Jetta was designed for very, very small people to enter/exit the rear seats.
I'm kinda digging that Ford Ranger Raptor grille (seen in numerous pics...) Any chance Ford could/would throw that grille style out there (say as a $395 factory option)?
GM will soon need to up-the-ante with discounts on their Colorado/Canyon twins -- I've tried a couple of times here locally (in Houston) to wheel/deal and both dealerships (Chevy and GMC) didn't want to discount hardly anything from MSRP; that sealed the deal with my waiting on the 2019 Ford Ranger
