Personally I go 6 years and then bleed the system for a flush. Brake fluid is hydroscopic so in that amount of time even in a sealed system will see some degradation. After the bleed I would also do a Forscan ABS bleed too. Can’t hurt.

If it were me I would do what you’re saying. Most important is not only the slides the pads need to be able to float on the retainer clips. If they’re jammed in there this is how you wear one pad like that. Don’t cheap out on parts. Fronts are doing 80% of the stopping. Wouldn’t hurt to bleed...

What it’s purpose is venting the crankcase gasses and separates the oil and water it carry’s so it doesn’t get back to the intake airflow as designed. Over time that builds up on the back of intake valves and degrades air flow.
