Exact same setup here. Stock Tremor suspension with Methods 703 +35 on stock 32" Grabbers. I only changed the front crash bar for the Ready lift ones just in case. Really like the look and how perfectly it fits without having to modify a whole bunch of stuff on the truck.
I had the OEM Tremor wheels painted in black.
I liked how they look, but the fact they were the same color as my ranger, carbonized grey, annoyed me a bit. Im also a fan of black wheels. It will definitely look better for my taste.
Loaded up the Ranger for a whole month of vacation in my hometown in Gaspé peninsula.
Averaged 12.4L/100km with a very strong headwind. Not bad considering it is towing, has a kayak on the roof and the bed is loaded.
Also enjoyed my first ride on my new PWC.
Towing a Yamaha Jetblaster.
First time towing with the Ranger. I have zero experience doing it. I can't compare to anything else.
The Jet is only 549lbs. With the trailer it is around 750.
Didn't order the truck with the tow package. Went to the dealer to get one, they would charge me...
3" 1/4 shank fits. I got that on mine. But unless the trailer is lifted, it's useless. I tried and came to the conclusion that i need a hitch. The rear is just too high. I must precise that i have a tremor so it's higher, but still not the best. I put 2 washers to elevate the ball a bit more...
Finally got them on.
Here's before with winter tires
And after with stock Grabbers
Absolutely loving it. Crash bars cleared. Really enjoying the 1/2 inch more offset over stock. Nothing too crazy, just how i like it.
Thanks again for the help. Saved a few hundred buck by avoiding buying...
Wow thanks for the video! It shows very well the spacing, better than pictures. Exactly what i needed to see! :)
Kind of weird how it is tighter on one side, but im glad I won't need to lift the truck. Just not sure I would like the look of it with the stock tremor wheels on winter tires with...
Don't want too put too much on it at the same time too. Headlight swap is on my list of mods, among many other things. I still have plenty of time to decide if i'll go with Alpha or Morimoto. I totally agree that the startup sequence is flashy. Really wish there was a way to skip it. Maybe there is?
That's ok man, i'm currently running winter tires on the stock wheels. I'll only put the new methods around april. Still got time until then!
Just noticed your Alpharex headlights. It seems we share the same mods idea. I've been thinking about them or the Morimoto.
Hey nice Ranger and nice wheels!
I suppose your rubbing was on the front crash bar? How does it look on the rear one? No chance of any rubbing there at all?
I got a Tremor too and purchased these exact same wheels, but black. I was concerned about rubbing and i bought the Ready lift anti...
It makes sense. Tremor apparently has a 0.8'' lift compared to the regular model. So if i add the 1'' spacer lift kit, it would equates to his 1.8'' lift.
Seems to me that the problem got solved right there lol.
I really have minimial skills and barely any tools! Not too sure i would have a nice day working on this by myself. But as you said, it's probably a better idea to test fit it before changing the bars. I just couldn't see how it would not rub with the space left that i saw. But considering 2...
Quite surprised you don't get any rubbing. I don't even see an 1/2 inch of space between the tire and front bar at full turn on my stock setup. Thanks, i might wait and test fit before and ask for a refund on the crash bars if it fits perfectly without it.
Old topic but still relevant.
I got a tremor and a set of Method 703 17x8.5 +35 offset and 6,2" backspacing that i will install this spring.
Even stock, it is very tight with the factory crash bars. I will keep the same size tires (265/70/17).
The new setup will push the tire only a 1/2 inch...
It worked for a few hundred miles...
i thought it would give me a good protection, that considering the angle the rocks hit the film it would not perforate it, but no. I am very disappointed. I am sure some rocks didnt go through the film but i guess some are too big or hit too fast.
Hi,
Besides 3M protection film, anyone has found a good solution against the rock thown by the front tires? The more agressive thread on these General grabbers and the wider stance of the Tremor definitely seems to be the problem here.
I got my Tremor brand new. I installed the Rokblokz XL...
No idea. I just drove it normally. Pretty flat, cruise control at 115kph for almost 500km., no head wind, towing nothing but myself and 50 pounds of luggage.
27mpg is probably a bit too optimistic. Realistically it's probably 1-1.5mpg less if i would have hand calculated it but still really good.
I just did a 694km (434mi) trip and i had 64km (40mi) left of range driving mostly at 115kph (72mph) or a bit slower at times.
If the computer calculations are correct, i would have traveled 758km (474mi) on a single tank.
I averaged 8.5 L/100 (27.7mpg) with my Tremor on that trip.
