Nothing exciting, just another Friday morning and my monthly trip to the barber shop. Then breakfast at McDonalds.
While eating breakfast, I noticed an obviously retired man sitting nearby reading a newspaper (!) and I got to take a moment to reflect on my semi-retirement, lol. Full retirement...
Is the antenna assembly held down with adhesive tape or does it clip into the hole? Just wondering.
I went back to washing in the driveway when I bought my Ranger and I would agree the stubby antenna would be necessary to go into a car wash.
The Ranger hasn't moved in 3? weeks, so I took it for a drive today. It has 1,997 miles on it now
I snapped a picture out on the street while checking the mailbox. The lovely wife reminded me once I got inside that today is Columbus Day, lol.
Look at that sporty Supercab! :D
My 1st Ranger was a 1986. The basic version. Purchased used in 1988, drove it for 13 years.
It had the 2.0 4 cylinder with a 5 speed. Very slow, but that probably helped keep me alive because I drove like an idiot back then.
As the years went on, it was updated with aluminum XLT wheels and...
As others have already said, the dealer has to program it.
I used some of the 32,000 Fordpass points that I got for purchasing the truck to pay for the programming.
The truck is now a year old and I've never had situation that required it, but it's there.
I get mine done in my driveway. I live in the woods and my neighbors can't see me slumming, lol.
Ever seen a drain plug cross-threaded into an oil pan with a 3/8" impact wrench? It wasn't on my vehicle, it was a fellow employee's car. If something like that had ever happened to me, it wouldn't...
I think it was 19 miles? It was a custom order.
I had given the salesman a list of things not to do when it arrived. No dealer decals, no license plate frame, and no other customers taking my truck for test drives. Judging from everyone's responses, they did what I asked. :)
Another Friday, another chance to get the Ranger out.
Went a couple towns over to get my haircut, get breakfast at McDonalds. (Sausage/cheese biscuit FTW) and pick up a couple things for the lovely wife at the Walmart.
This is not my usual Walmart, but I still found the perfect parking spot...
Another Friday, but not another grocery getting day.
Got up at 4:30 AM, left the house around 5:45, ate breakfast at McDonald's (darn good sausage biscuit w/cheese) and then drove 1-1/2 hours to a shop in North Georgia to pick up two homemade steel/cast iron? sawhorses that a friend of my late...
No, it's an automatic and it isn't necessary for me.
My previous two vehicles were 5 speeds and an incident made using the handbrake into a habit. I had parked my '86 Ranger on the street at my parent's house, accidentally leaving it in 2nd gear and leaving the emergency brake off. It rolled...
Another Friday, another day to get the Ranger out to run a few errands. Mainly the Walmart and hardware store to get a bag of concrete.
My wife was walking up and down the driveway exercising when I got home, so I handed her my phone and said "Here make a picture of my Ranger." lol.
I think you mean hyperdrive. :)
No joke, I haven't been past 70 in mine. I know it has some get up and go, though.
I haven't been in a safe situation to put the pedal to the floor yet. Maybe someday.
Another Friday, another day the Ranger serves as a grocery getter.
I'm able to park next to the same vehicle every Friday morning and I'm sure it's an employee. Not sure why they don't park next to the island, but at least it makes a safe place for me to park.
Just look at that sporty...
