That leads into an interesting question that I'm sure Google might even struggle to answer;
whats the failure rate as a percentage from OEM transmissions compared to "bonafide repair experts"? We would be comparing hundreds of thousands to just hundreds.
I am convinced that they are better...
Its all about claims and credibility.
Remember the press release, when they were touting the unbreakable glass, and "well, maybe that was a little too hard"
When you boondoggle that so bad, can you really trust the claims on range anymore??
Back in the day, a hammer, some bondo and a sanding block would have been sufficient.
Glad you moved into another Ranger. I've seen quite an uptick in my local area of the new Frontiers
I think it's all just posturing.
Its what the world is made of right now.
Every internet warrior wants to be the one to start a trend, quash a rising, stir the pot; all for likes, cred and some weird obsession to be liked.
Look around here, probably in 85% of the threads is someone trying to...
No, I don't want to try it.
All this doom and gloom has me scared with a waiting lawyer on speed dial. I'm ready to pull the pin and launch a Canadian class action grenade Fords way if my trans so much as hiccups.
I should really lay off the weed, it's putting my anxiety through the roof.
Hard to say.
To those who have transmission problems, they want their voice to be heard and we all understand that.
Problem I see is ANY defect with the trans. (there's many) get all lumped into one giant complaint by a vocal minority. Its now become a generalization of the trans. as a whole...
the retro aspect of the A&W is what I wish was around today.
it was the one where you pull up, turn your lights on, order, and they bring it out to you on a tray to hang on your window. Loved that experience as a kid
I'm deeply curious about what the "Life Threatening" safety issues are.
everyone states them, but so far I haven't seen it explained on exactly what or why its going to kill you.
It sounds dicked up bad, but I have nothing to compare it to, as I have never done that on mine.
from an investigative maintenance standpoint, is the other wheel on the ground or in the air?
I would try and isolate one side from the other and compare. As well, disconnect the driveshaft to...
I have a 17 Focus.
It sits for weeks at a time, but always starts and runs great. Great car overall We wont talk about the transmission. Sensitive word around here.
This last time I started it after sittng for almost 3 weeks, the battery seemed to be down on its luck, but it started quickly...
I'm going to go with a combination of turbo lag, plus your traction control.
Leaning heavy on the traction control trying to stop wheel spin.
Turn off the nannies and let her rip.
A sure sign of quality dropping.
Whether its Ford themselves, or a supplier, they need to get their sh*t in order.
A better comparison of numbers would help determine the full scope, but its still not good news if you're printer is pumping out recalls every couple hours.
That's the accelerated method. Something the dealership should do on the test drive after clearing your memory or doing other work to it. Or something you should do after doing the same (ie battery disconnect for whatever)
When a trans is built, lets hope they have a test rig that they put the...
Those of you who plan on disabling this, when do you plan on doing it? After its ran the process of adjustment and when its working perfect? or are you just going cold turkey and shutting it down at whatever its at at that time and hoping for the best?
Ideally, it would be great to get some...
