I think the biggest decision is: How often you need to transport more than 2 people and the size of the people going in the back seat vs your desire/need for the longer bed.
My wife is 5' so if we needed to do a drive into town (50 mile round trip), she could easily sit in the back if we had a...
Damn you @User79. I just *had* to go out and look out of curiosity and since my truck was built in March. I have a drivers side shim as well and I can tell you with 1000% assurance that my dealer did not install it. Would be cool if @P. A. Schilke knew someone at the factory that could describe...
Rick, if you have not already figured it out, there is a way to cancel a destination.
Forgot to point in this picture, but see the arrow with the estimated time? Press that and it will bring up the next screen.
Just oress stop to cancel the current route.
I have my Android car play...
Brought my Ranger in for the safety recall and also brought up the shifting issue with the service manager. As was expected, there is nothing they can do since there is no way to consistently get the transmission to clunk when shifting into drive or neutral.
I told him I didn't expect them to...
Good luck. Mine was built in March. This is at least the 3rd thread this has been mentioned. Mine will occasionally clunk going in reverse or forward. Very inconsistent. Doesn't matter if the truck is warm (been running/driven for 5+ minutes) or cold. Doesn't matter how I put in to reverse...
A few people have. there is a thread or some comments in a thread. Happens on mine sometimes. Not taking it in because it is so inconsistent and impossible to consistently replicate.
@rangerdanger and @DPhil Seems like I got my VIN after 2 weeks. Ordered 12/1 and received 5/31. 6 months. I could see it being a month earlier maybe sooner for @DPhil. Once built, Still has to travel cross country and then get scheduled on a ship.
What are you ordering?
All I know is that your comment got me looking and I found this excellent and very easy to understand writeup on how all of it is calculated.
http://www.epi-eng.com/piston_engine_technology/power_and_torque.htm I didn't realize how connected the values were. I like this key quote...
I will say this though. If I had a daughter and was too lazy to teach her correctly and couldn't be sure she wouldn't be tempted to use her phone, I'd definitely be supportive of her driving a car with all of the current driving aids.
I've got 0 issues with pre-collision assist. It's turned off! No adaptive cruise control, lane assist, or anything else to take my attention away from my job at the time....to focus and drive safely.
Remember when we used paper maps? Your driving world was extended miles and miles. GPS...
Design? Most vehicles I am guessing has something similar.
Sitting in our base level Rogue right now, I see chrome, flat silver, flat magnetic, glossy black trim pieces.
Yup..the lovely sounds from direct injection. You probably didn't notice it because most of us don't notice all things annoying when we are buying something we want. Supposedly the Lariat engine cover mutes the sound which you can buy. Mine is fairly quiet, but since it's a familiar sound, I...
I don't like square fenders, but those look pretty good. I like the render, but sadly have a bad taste in my mouth with this latest truck. Probably chock full of more electronic crap that will be mandatory rather than optional.
Ya, the Lariat gets that same display on the right display window. It's the only feature that makes that window actually useful. Now you get to watch your transmission continually skip over 2nd gear..unless you are on the gas hard or use S mode :-)
Ya, I tried out the S mode and know exactly what you mean. You hit the upshift button annnnnnnnnnnndddddd it shifts. It did shift a little more enthusiastically if I was on the gas hard but I wouldn't say the shift were snappy.
That's a good way to put it. And right...0 problems with the stopping power. It's just difficult to be smooth. If you are a hit the brakes and stop kind of person, you won't notice anything, but if you like to be smooth with your stops and in stop and go, it is noticeable. With the whole system...
It's been mentioned elsewhere, especially in the suspension forum that this truck "wallows". I feel it as well. Some folks here are looking to install sway bars and maybe some upgraded shocks to tighten it up. I've just learned to drive it slower and smoother. There is enough annoying about this...
Yep, I contributed to that thread. This smooth braking was really bothering me..I didn't realize how much it had become part of my driving until I couldn't do it in the Ranger. Also stop and go where you are just trying to smoothly modulate is very difficult.
Just wanted to do this test by...
They are, but I'm coming to realize it's not just the brakes, it's the whole engine, transmission, braking, computer system.
Straight road, this truck glides and is a nice cruiser, but it's annoying as heck to drive in traffic.
