'floaty' --- thats what I thought about the XLT but he Fx2 is more firm??? it still bouncy
thanks Phil.... I have the FX2 version, I just dont need 4wd. As far as I know the suspension / shocks on the FX4 is pretty much the same as the FX2, I just need to get to a point where the other half...
so you dont have to replace with an AGM battery????? what is the purpose o changing to AGM by ford? the cost is much higher so there must be a reason the bean counters didn't veto the extra cost of AGM. how do you disable the battery management to make it give a full charge?
shocks……. its a thing alright - my issue is i love my ranger, i really do not want an F150, they do ride better—- longer wheelbase etc….. but i park in a garage at work and home and the ranger suits my needs better, a full size is just to big . the ranger does sway a bit and bounce a lot on...
first ford daily driver? 1974 ford ranchero —- daily driver for about 5 years this was before paint, a whole lotta work and time went into that thing not much on that car/truck or whatever it was that i didn't fix cant find the final picture corvette yellow -
thanks for the info -- I likely won't mess with it for awhile since im only at 12k miles so have warranty left for a while so battery would be replaced if it has issues as of now, I wonder if your upping the charge % is what fixed it - I disabled stop start by the end of the first week - auto...
really looks like a mistake that should be fixed ford could easily ship out colored plug for people to install it just looks terrible on a new vehicle 20 holes in a new car can't be on purpose .... I hope. the things you miss when looking at a new vehicle ---who looks for the kinda thing?
it may be an improvement for rust etc (doubt it) --- but it looks like crap if it were for a reason a one way drain valve to let water out -- if thats the reason would be better than 20 holes in the bottom of a cars panels just my opinion.
thanks! I always buy the largest battery I can get when replacing it --- more is better as far as batteries go, you'd think the clamps / posts would be the same did that remove the 'start engine to save battery' issue? - tried listening to radio while washing / waxing and got the same message...
interesting— ive always kinda wondered about what was in there and why its offset inlet vs outlet and why it needed to be so big…. im just gonna leave mine alone but cool to see whats in there
does removing the 1 inch restrictor help at all? I dont plan to do it but just really curious Id think its there for some reason like the one way valve to keep back pressure at a necessary minimum level maybe?
just a question -- why cut open the muffler? does changing it out help at all with power mpg etc? Ive been told long ago that engines need a certain amount of back pressure to function well what affect does the change have on the truck? does it make sound any less 4cyl ish? I love my little...
just FYI for anyone - the ford app has a place to record service you do, saves the mileage and you add the date...... it also lets you take a picture of the receipt for parts. The way I understand it as long as you have a record of what you did, when and at what miles you did it and can show...
sorry I realized I made a BIG typo in the original post I think I fixed it..... it is FOOT pounds not INCH LB like I posted before -- sorry if I confused anyone. the torque screwdriver I found is basically like a torque wrench but has a screwdriver handle with a "T" shape so it makes it a...
yep---- seems reasonable that if they can sell less cars for the same amount of money while spending less on manufacturing and labor..... why wouldn't they?
I really do love my ranger BUT if I had a second car to drive, Id sell it - wait it out and get another probably 4x4 this time....... I dont need it but its nice to have now and then...... at least I have the FX2 with the locking rear end. its a great truck but the carmax offer with over 5k...
I just looked -- 2020 FX2 XLT ranger, I have about ten holes on each side but all have painted plugs in them --- I think Id put in a warranty claim for that, I cannot believe leaving 20 1/2 inch holes in the body panels is intentional, seems like a production mistake and I would defiantly plug...
