I wouldn't necessarily ditch the setup. Maybe try a different muffler? I was nervous what mine would sound like, but now I love how deep it is. Just a flowmaster style chambered muffler. I don't have a downpipe however. I tried to avoid the high pitch sound at all costs and it came out great.
Was across the border last night in NY state. Filled up with 93 octane for the second straight tank since it was actually affordable. $3.19 in Pa, $2.69 in NY. Thanks a lot Governor Wolf.
19 crew and I have the buttons. I will say that I did remove the one side for my daughter's car seat. Just fits better. I stow it under the seat in the cubby hole until needed.
The fastest eco mustangs in the world all run some form of corn gas and/or water/meth. It's all about reducing detonation to push your engine further. Now, I won't be doing any of that to a truck. As mentioned, there are severe tradeoffs, usually gas mileage. I'm having a hard time paying...
Looks like others already answered your question, but mainly, knock resistance. You can run more timing, more boost, and push the engine further. As noted though, it does take more fuel to do so.
You can make good power with these flex fuels, but you have to do it intelligently. These motors are great on e30. But you have to tune for it. And you should have all the other supporting mods before that. And I would recommend a good tuner with a good reputation, not just and off the shelf...
Thanks! Yes I did peruse this thread a while back. Definitely some good options there. I looked at a scrap of aluminum I had last night, but it wasn't wide enough. I'm gonna go shop at the ol man's garage tonight ha.
That was my thoughts, too. I'm just not a chrome guy (no offense to those that are). I also pulled the eco badge and bed side stickers the day after I bought it. I just like clean and simple. Bumper stickers make me wanna have a stroke ha.
Thanks. It's not too far off in person. I wasn't looking for direct match, just something a little brighter than stock. The stock ford blue just looked a little bland to me. It's the same color blue as I did my tow hooks / bed tie downs. I think its Rustoleum royal blue (gloss). Yes I did...
Kinda, the rear pops off with a screwdriver. The camera base underneath then unscrews from the tailgate. Then unplug the camera. The front has two studs than unscrew from the grille. The side vents pop out with trim tools with like 5 springy type metal clips.
Emblems reinstalled, tonneau cover on. Got my mount for the fire extinguisher, now just gotta come up with a solution. I'm thinking of attaching it to some aluminum stock, and mounting the stock to the factory holes. If anyone knows the size of those two holes in the back of the bed, I'd be...
Badges are painted and dried over the weekend. I'll try to carefullly reinstall, tonight. Oh, and the UPS guy dropped off my tonneau, so I'll do that too.
Just get a small screwdriver in the slot on the bottom. I used plastic trim tools to pull it straight out. One of the clips did come off the post, but I easily pushed it back on. I was going to just spray the whole thing black, but I decided to drill it apart and paint it differently for more...
Pulled apart my emblems last night for paint. Last of the chrome and shiny stuff for me (no offense, chrome guys). Going to replace the chrome with a matte black I think. Considered leaving the stock blue alone, but I might go brighter to match body color and tow hook color better. Not too...
Our toilet seats are dampened because our son had an "unfortunate accident" with a slammed seat while potty training ha. I felt so bad for him I ran out and bought new seats ha. Yes, my tailgate is also dampened haha. Not a necessary feature, but I love it (and I'm not ashamed to admit it).
