Same boat, the wife's explorer is in the garage. I don't keep much of anything (besides some ratchet and tow straps) in the Ranger while wife's car has random stuff in it. I'm on a cul-de-sac in a safe enough neighborhood. I also have a camera above the garage and another at the front door.
I have overlooked that option. I guess we have 3 options instead of 2 for bed side protection. It looks like they have an option for "Classic" rear bumper without the swing outs. That should make it a bit cheaper. That option is not listed on Stage3. They still show the 5G on their website...
The Coastal Offroad bumper is my favorite of the aftermarkets. Only the ARB with the optional hoops provides protections. But like Glocker, my wife would not like it. Plus I didn't learn to weld when I had the chance :headbang:. However I don't think she's realized what happened yet :whew...
Keep in mind if you’re using ASS there is a break even time that the engine needs to remain off. If you are creeping every 1 or 2 seconds after it shuts off you will use more gas.
Some other tips, if you see brake lights ahead take your foot off the gas. You’re better off coasting at 10mph...
Question for the guys who are avidly against a universal top speed governor on vehicles: if you knew that in the near future your spouse or child will be killed in a car accident but the speed governor would save them, would you still be opposed?
I went through this and tore my hands up worse than the installation.
FWIW, I'm a little over 8k miles on the truck. I changed oil at 1400 and 5000. Next change will be 10k and every 5k after that. I have no gas smell on my dip stick or in the oil I've drained. I have not noticed any rise...
Yes, pleased with the fuel mileage I’m getting for daily driving while having the capabilities of a truck when needed. I’m planning to run this one into the ground. Expecting 250k+ miles out of it.
I bought mine from Maroone in Longmont. Factory ordered July '21 and picked up Oct '21. No ADM, price on delivery was as advertised. In and out in about an hour.
He had the Raptor a couple years ago and made several short videos of it. Taking wife, kids, or colleagues somewhere and then driving down an off-road “shortcut”. He called it his mid-life crisis vehicle.
EDIT:
here ya go
Do you have the tow/haul mode button on the console? Sounds like to get the full tow package they'll have to swap out the bumper and maybe added some wiring.
