  1. FORD Power Pack New Ranger

I ran 93 octane from day one and installed the Ford Performance tune at about 3,000 miles (now at 5,600) without using the K&N filter. It really seems to wake up the truck! It’s more apt to downshift with smaller throttle inputs, but not overly “sporty” in normal drive mode. If I put my foot in...
  2. New Tacoma - Broke

    Same! Michelins for my Exploder?
  3. New Tacoma - Broke

    Those are my thoughts too.
  4. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

Thanks! The original owner was in her 80s and traded it for a new Kia Sorento at the time… My parents had one the same color growing up which got me hooked. I found this one when I was 15 and had to have it! It’s been babied during it’s time with me and will continue to be.
  5. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

Parked my 95 Exploder next to my 23 for the first time just to take this picture lol. I’m the second owner, owned since 2012 with 55k miles. Now at 80k and only driven a couple hundred a year for the last several.
  6. Bilstein 4600 shock upgrade worth it ?

I had the same roller coaster feeling you did. I just did shocks all the way around, the rest of the suspension is stock. I work in a shop and did them myself.
  7. Bilstein 4600 shock upgrade worth it ?

Short answer…yes! My first highway trip with my 23 FX4 just about made me sick from the bobbing up and down, like the shocks were blown…with 500 miles. I installed the 4600s on all four corners, and it feels like a night and day difference! It is more “firm” I would say around town, but on the...
  8. 2020 rear axel seal leaking bad!

My father in law’s 2023 leaked with just 6k on the odometer. His local dealer replaced the whole axle assembly.
  9. "No GPS" symbol in Sync3

I’ve also seen that two times in my eight months of ownership. I haven’t a clue of the cause, but it’s gone after the next key cycle. ??‍♂️
  10. If you're using SYNC 3.4, Build 23188 with Navigation Maps Version NA 2 22 I could sure use your help

This was the issue I had with mine. I had to drag the licensing file over to the Sync folder and had no more error message.
  11. What are some reliable, practical 2nd vehicle options?

I’d suggest a “panther platform” car, 2003-2011. Town Car, Grand Marquis or Crown Victoria. They can be found under or near 100k miles for under $10k. They are very reliable and easy to work on and find parts for. I drove an 05 Town Car for five years before my Ranger and miss is every day! Just...
  12. Sync 3 Maps Update

I had the same issue you had! I stewed over it for 2 months and thought I’d try again and read the forum… It worked!!! Just moved the 424 file and presto! Also updated Sync to 3.4.23188!
  13. Transmission Fluid At 40k Miles

No water, may be the lighting. Was a real dark purplish color.
  14. Transmission Fluid At 40k Miles

No it was pretty dark, I too was shocked! Did the rear diff and ptu as well. Both looked good still, but the tranny was a different story! Never pulls a trailer or abused, still shifts like new. I will stick with 20-25k intervals for it…
  15. Transmission Fluid At 40k Miles

Not as bad as my parent’s 22 Maverick. Drained and filled it yesterday at 20,000 miles with ULV.
  16. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

I’d like to get one of the updated sticks if possible. Just let me know how I can cover shipping costs. Thanks!
  17. HOT PEPPER RED Ranger Club Thread

Gave my 23 Hot Pepper a needed bath!
  18. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Posted this yesterday, but not sure why my text didn’t show up with the pics. Got a bath and changed the gear oil in the rear end. Yes only 3,400 miles, but it had a good amount of break-in metal floating around. So for $15 and a few minutes, why not lol?
  19. Oil paranoia question 🤣

I’ve used Ultra Platinum in many Fords in my family, including my 23 Ranger. Never had any lubrication related uses. All run great and use no oil! All are changed between 3,000-5,000 miles with Motorcraft filters. Yes I know it’s overkill, but I’m a mechanic and see each day what lack of oil...
