One other benefit I mentioned earlier is premium 93 is one of the few Non Ethanol gas, so I use it for that reason. More stable the gas with up to 10-15% Ethonal mixed in.
This is the post I was talking about some very good info from a well trusted source. He has helped many people on this forum.
So, with the known problem and the high possibility of it breaking off in the head, it may be wise to let a dealer do it, mainly due to the fact if it breaks off you...
Airline Tech had a good write up about removing plugs. I cannot find the thread. Maybe someone else can locate it and post a link to it. There was a lot of good tips listed in it.
Have not seen any posts from him in over a year or so. I think he was driving a Ranger over here, and had a beautiful Germany Shepard picture for his profile picture. That is one thing that makes it hard everyday I see a lot of Rangers and a Raptor or two very popular trucks here.
This time here...
Good pure gas and heat works wonders. Truck sat for a year during 2024 came back winter of 2025 and started right up. This year I also put a battery maintainer on it seeing how the battery is now 5 years old. Hopefully in Sept it will fire right up. Then it will be time for a long road trip in...
Traveling in the Philippines till Sept with the wife. It is hard to leave the beautiful Wisconsin winters, but need to keep the wife happy. Manila Bay sunset.
Filled up with Premium 93 (Only gas without Ethanol) for the truck to sit through the winter. I also added a bottle of Heat to be sure to remove any moisture in the tank. Did this for a few tanks before parking it for the next 8 months.
I am jealous, had to leave the snow, and now in the warm Philippines for 8 months to keep the wife happy. Problem is the nice weather in WI (winter and snow) is also the only time the Philippines is bearable. Rest of the year is too hot or too many storms.
When mine was sprayed they asked which holes I wanted saved. Then put in a bolt similar to a set screw to save the threads, and not damage the liner. Sprayed over the plugs, and those are now solid and part of the liner. There is no way to remove them without damaging the liner. After spraying I...
I think you would have a hard time getting the caps back on. I had my bed, grill, fender emblems and rear emblem coated by Bullet Liner. In the end it is super thick, and all the tabs had to be masked off along with the backside of everything. Otherwise they would not have been able to fit back on.
Have to agree with both of the earlier replies those are some of the most beautiful places. We have driven them multiple times. I also like to take the back US Highways instead of main roads. If you need to take the interstate instead of backroads nothing is better then I70 through Colorado...
The BLIS should still work, just set the trailer length to 3 feet. You should only lose the backup lines and parking sensors. Only thing that I think might work is I believe Putco has a plug and play module, but it is like $400 to $600 for it.
I have a strip, because my 3rd brake light is...
Have not tested battery, but put charger on another battery which was a lead acid. On this battery it charged to 14.4v before it said full so I think charger is good. Old battery is just going bad, 5yrs seems good for what has been mentioned on this site. I will see what it does when I get back...
“Did you buy a maintainer or a drainer? Seriously though, it looks to me like you connected it to wrong side of the BMS sensor. Can't tell for sure.”
Hopefully I got a maintainer and not a drainer.
BMS is on the negative side I am connected to ground on frame before the sensor.
Positive side is...
I recently (2 weeks ago) hooked up a battery maintainer, because the truck will sit for a few months. Right after I did that it went into sleep mode within a day or two. It has done that multiple times now even after a few long drives. After which I reconnected the charger.
Maybe a coincidence...
In most cases make sure you do the final torque setting with the vehicle weight on the suspension not on jack stands or a lift. You can do a search on the internet for specific info or follow manufactures instructions.
Not a problem for a few miles. If you go with the LCA method which is the easiest way, mark the cam bolts position. That way you can get it close to where it originally was.
